ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਗੁਰ ਜਬ ਤੇ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਾਏ ਤਬ ਤੇ ਅਸਥਿਰਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਅਨਤ ਨ ਧਾਵਹੀ ।
charan kamal gur jab te ridai basaae tab te asathir chit anat na dhaavahee |Since the time a human being attaches his mind with the lotus like feet of the True Guru, his mind becomes stable and it does not wander anywhere.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮਕਰੰਦ ਚਰਨਾਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਅਮਰ ਪਦ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਹੀ ।
charan kamal makarand charanaamrit kai praapat amar pad sahaj samaavahee |The refuge of the True Guru's feet provides one with the foot-wash of the True Guru that helps him acquire inimitable state and engrossment in equipoise.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਗੁਰ ਜਬ ਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਾਰੇ ਆਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਸਰਬੰਗ ਬਿਸਰਾਵਹੀ ।
charan kamal gur jab te dhiaan dhaare aan giaan dhiaan sarabang bisaraavahee |Since the holy feet of the True Guru got lodged in the heart of a devotee (the devotee took His refuge), the mind of the devotee has shed all other comforts and is absorbed in the meditation of His name.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਗੁਰ ਮਧੁਪ ਅਉ ਕਮਲ ਗਤਿ ਮਨ ਮਨਸਾ ਥਕਿਤ ਨਿਜ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਆਵਈ ।੨੧੮।
charan kamal gur madhup aau kamal gat man manasaa thakit nij greh aavee |218|Since the fragrance of the holy lotus-feet of the True Guru got lodged in the mind of the devotee, all other fragrances have become prosaic and indifferent for him. (218)
