ਜੈਸੇ ਦਰਪਨ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਦਨੁ ਬਿਲੋਕੀਅਤ ਐਸੇ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਸਾਖੀ ਭੂਤ ਗੁਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਹੈ ।

jaise darapan bikhai badan bilokeeat aaise saragun saakhee bhoot gur dhiaan hai |

As one sees one's face in the mirror, so is the True Guru, the image of Transcendental God that can be comprehended by concentrating the mind on True Guru.

ਜੈਸੇ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਧੁਨਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਾਜਤ ਬਜੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਕੋ ਮਨੁ ਤੈਸੇ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ ਗਿਆਨ ਹੈ ।

jaise jantr dhun bikhai baajat bajantree ko man taise ghatt ghatt gur sabad giaan hai |

Just as the player's mind is in harmony with the tune that he is playing on his musical instrument, so is the knowledge of absolute God merged in the words of the True Guru.

ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਜਤ੍ਰ ਕਤ੍ਰ ਸੈ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਭਏ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਰਮ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਹੈ ।

man bach kram jatr katr sai ikatr bhe pooran pragaas prem param nidhaan hai |

By virtue of contemplation on the lotus feet of the True Guru and practicing his teachings in life, concentrating the mind that wanders about due to spurious utterances and deeds, a Guru-conscious person becomes a lover of the great treasure of Lord's nam
