ਜੈਸੇ ਪਤਿਬ੍ਰਤਾ ਪਰ ਪੁਰਖੈ ਨ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਚਾਹੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਤਿਬ੍ਰਤਾ ਕੈ ਪਤਿ ਹੀ ਕੈ ਧਿਆਨ ਹੈ ।
jaise patibrataa par purakhai na dekhio chaahai pooran patibrataa kai pat hee kai dhiaan hai |Just as a faithful wife does not like to look at another man and being sincere and faithful always supports her husband in her mind.
ਸਰ ਸਰਿਤਾ ਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਨ ਚਾਹੈ ਕਾਹੂ ਆਸ ਘਨ ਬੂੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਗੁਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਹੈ ।
sar saritaa samundr chaatrik na chaahai kaahoo aas ghan boond pria pria gun giaan hai |Just as a rain-bird does not want water from a lake river or sea, but keeps on wailing for Swati drop from the clouds.
ਦਿਨਕਰ ਓਰ ਭੋਰ ਚਾਹਤ ਨਹੀ ਚਕੋਰ ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਹਿਮਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਹੈ ।
dinakar or bhor chaahat nahee chakor man bach kram himakar pria praan hai |Just as a Ruddy sheldrake does not like to look at the Sun even when the Sun is rising because the moon is his beloved in all respects.
ਤੈਸੇ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਆਨ ਦੇਵ ਸੇਵ ਰਹਤਿ ਪੈ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਨ ਅਵਗਿਆ ਅਭਮਾਨੁ ਹੈ ।੪੬੬।
taise gurasikh aan dev sev rahat pai sahaj subhaav na avagiaa abhamaan hai |466|So is a devoted disciple of the True Guru who does not worship any other god or goddess except the dearer than his life-True Guru. But, by remaining in a state of tranquility, he neither disrespects anyone nor shows the arrogance of his supremacy. (466)
