ਜੈਸੇ ਤੌ ਕੰਚਨੈ ਪਾਰੋ ਪਰਸਤ ਸੋਖ ਲੇਤ ਅਗਨਿ ਮੈ ਡਾਰੇ ਪੁਨ ਪਾਰੋ ਉਡ ਜਾਤ ਹੈ ।
jaise tau kanchanai paaro parasat sokh let agan mai ddaare pun paaro udd jaat hai |Just as mercury touching gold conceals its real colour but when put in a crucible regains its luster, while the mercury evaporates.
ਜੈਸੇ ਮਲ ਮੂਤ੍ਰ ਲਗ ਅੰਬਰ ਮਲੀਨ ਹੋਤ ਸਾਬਨ ਸਲਿਲ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗਾਤ ਹੈ ।
jaise mal mootr lag anbar maleen hot saaban salil mil niramal gaat hai |Just as clothes become dirty with filth and dust but when washed with soap and water become clean again.
ਜੈਸੇ ਅਹਿ ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਬਿਖ ਬ੍ਯਾਪਤ ਸਗਲ ਅੰਗ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕੈ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਸਭ ਸੁ ਬਿਲਾਤ ਹੈ ।
jaise eh grase bikh bayaapat sagal ang mantr kai bikhai bikaar sabh su bilaat hai |Just as snake-bite spreads poison in the whole body but with recitation of Garur jaap (a Mantra) all ill effects are destroyed.
ਤੈਸੇ ਮਾਯਾ ਮੋਹ ਕੈ ਬਿਮੋਹਤ ਮਗਨ ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ ਮਾਯਾ ਮੂਲ ਮੁਰਝਾਤ ਹੈ ।੫੫੭।
taise maayaa moh kai bimohat magan man gur upades maayaa mool murajhaat hai |557|Similarly by listening to True Guru's word and meditating on it, all the effects of worldly vices and attachment are eliminated. (All the influence of worldly things (Maya) ends.) (557)
