ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਸਕਲ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਕਹੈ ਕਵਨ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਉ ਮਨ ਦਰਸ ਸਮਾਈਐ ।

darasan dekhio sakal sansaar kahai kavan drisatt sau man daras samaaeeai |

The whole world claims to have seen. But what is that marvellous sight which engrosses the mind in the looks of the Guru?

ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ ਸੁਨਿਓ ਸੁਨਿਓ ਸਭ ਕੋਊ ਕਹੈ ਕਵਨ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸੁਨਿ ਅਨਤ ਨ ਧਾਈਐ ।

gur upades sunio sunio sabh koaoo kahai kavan surat sun anat na dhaaeeai |

Everyone claims to have listened to the Guru's sermon. But what is that unique voice, hearing which the mind does not wander away?

ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰ ਜਪਤ ਜਗਤ ਗੁਰਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਹ ਕਵਨ ਜੁਗਤ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈਐ ।

jai jai kaar japat jagat guramantr jeeh kavan jugat jotee jot liv laaeeai |

The whole world praises the Guru's incantations and recite it too. But what is that mean which will attach the mind in the radiant Lord.

ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸੁਰਤ ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਸਰਬੰਗ ਹੀਨ ਪਤਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਗੁਰ ਮੂੜ ਸਮਝਾਈਐ ।੫੪੧।

drisatt surat giaan dhiaan sarabang heen patat paavan gur moorr samajhaaeeai |541|

A fool who is devoid of such limbs and appendages that provide him with knowledge of the True Guru and contemplation, True Guru-the maker of pious people out of sinners, bless them with such divine knowledge through Naam Simran. (541)
