ਜਉ ਲਉ ਦੀਪ ਜੋਤ ਹੋਤ ਨਾਹਿਤ ਮਲੀਨ ਆਲੀ ਜਉ ਲਉ ਨਾਂਹਿ ਸਿਹਜਾ ਕੁਸਮ ਕੁਮਲਾਤ ਹੈ ।

jau lau deep jot hot naahit maleen aalee jau lau naanhi sihajaa kusam kumalaat hai |

O friend! before dawn when the light of a lamp goes dim and the flowers on the decorated nuptial bed have not yet withered away,

ਜਉ ਲਉ ਨ ਕਮਲਨ ਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਤ ਉਡਤ ਅਲ ਬਿਰਖ ਬਿਹੰਗਮ ਨ ਜਉ ਲਉ ਚੁਹਚੁਹਾਤ ਹੈ ।

jau lau na kamalan prafulat uddat al birakh bihangam na jau lau chuhachuhaat hai |

Before the sunrise till the flowers bloom and the bumble bees are not attracted to them and before the dawn when the birds on the tree have not yet started chirping;

ਜਉ ਲਉ ਭਾਸਕਰ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ ਨ ਅਕਾਸ ਬਿਖੈ ਤਮਚੁਰ ਸੰਖ ਨਾਦ ਸਬਦ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਹੈ ।

jau lau bhaasakar ko prakaas na akaas bikhai tamachur sankh naad sabad na praat hai |

Till such time, the Sun shines in the sky and the crowing of the cock and the sound of the conch blowing is not heard,

ਤਉ ਲਉ ਕਾਮ ਕੇਲ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਸਕੂਲ ਪੂਰਨ ਕੈ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਹਕਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਿਯ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨੇਮ ਘਾਤ ਹੈ ।੬੬੧।
