ਜੈਸੇ ਜਲ ਜਲਜ ਅਉ ਜਲ ਦੁਧ ਸੀਲ ਮੀਨ ਚਕਈ ਕਮਲ ਦਿਨਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਹੈ ।
jaise jal jalaj aau jal dudh seel meen chakee kamal dinakar prat preet hai |Just as a lotus flower loves water, water has affinity for milk, fish loves water, ruddy Sheldrake and lotus love the sun;
ਦੀਪਕ ਪਤੰਗ ਅਲਿ ਕਮਲ ਚਕੋਰ ਸਸਿ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਨਾਦ ਬਾਦ ਘਨ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਸੁ ਚੀਤ ਹੈ ।

ਨਾਰਿ ਅਉ ਭਤਾਰੁ ਸੁਤ ਮਾਤ ਜਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾਵੰਤ ਖੁਧਿਆਰਥੀ ਭੋਜਨ ਦਾਰਿਦ੍ਰ ਧਨ ਮੀਤ ਹੈ ।
naar aau bhataar sut maat jal trikhaavant khudhiaarathee bhojan daaridr dhan meet hai |As a wife loves her husband, a son is deeply attached with his mother, a thirsty man craves for water, a hungry for food, and a pauper is always trying to befriend wealth.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਦ੍ਰੋਹ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਨ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਤ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖ ਸੰਧਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਗੁਨ ਅਤੀਤ ਹੈ ।੨੯੨।
