ਦਮਕ ਦੈ ਦੋਖ ਦੁਖੁ ਅਪਜਸ ਲੈ ਅਸਾਧ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਮੁਖ ਸਿਆਮਤਾ ਲਗਾਵਹੀ ।
damak dai dokh dukh apajas lai asaadh lok paralok mukh siaamataa lagaavahee |

A self-willed and base person acquires vices, sufferings and bad name after spending his wealth. He earns a stigma on himself both in this world and the world hereafter.

ਚੋਰ ਜਾਰ ਅਉ ਜੂਆਰ ਮਦਪਾਨੀ ਦੁਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਸੈਂ ਕਲਹ ਕਲੇਸ ਭੇਸ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਕਉ ਧਾਵਹੀ ।
chor jaar aau jooaar madapaanee dukrit sain kalah kales bhes dubidhaa kau dhaavahee |

A thief, immoral person, gambler and an addict is always involved in some discord or dispute on account of his base and infamous deeds.

ਮਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਮਾਨ ਹਾਨਿ ਕਾਨਿ ਮੈ ਕਨੋਡੀ ਸਭਾ ਨਾਕ ਕਾਨ ਖੰਡ ਡੰਡ ਹੋਤ ਨ ਲਜਾਵਹੀ ।

Such an evil-doer loses his intellect, respect, esteem and glory; and after bearing the punishment of cutting of nose or ear, he feels no shame in the society despite the stigma that he carries. Becoming more shameless, he keeps indulging in his nefarious
