ਜੈਸੇ ਤਉ ਮਿਠਾਈ ਰਾਖੀਐ ਛਿਪਾਇ ਜਤਨ ਕੈ ਚੀਟੀ ਚਲਿ ਜਾਇ ਚੀਨਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਲਪਟਾਤ ਹੈ ।
jaise tau mitthaaee raakheeai chhipaae jatan kai cheettee chal jaae cheen taeh lapattaat hai |Just as sweetmeats are hidden carefully and yet ants reach it with impunity and cling to them,
ਦੀਪਕ ਜਗਾਇ ਜੈਸੇ ਰਾਖੀਐ ਦੁਰਾਇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਪਤੰਗ ਤਾ ਮੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਤਿ ਹੈ ।
deepak jagaae jaise raakheeai duraae grihi pragatt patang taa mai sahaj samaat hai |Just as a lit lamp is carefully hidden in the house, yet a moth is able to find it and merges in its flame,
ਜੈਸੇ ਤਉ ਬਿਮਲ ਜਲ ਕਮਲ ਇਕਾਂਤ ਬਸੈ ਮਧੁਕਰ ਮਧੁ ਅਚਵਨ ਤਹ ਜਾਤ ਹੈ ।
jaise tau bimal jal kamal ikaant basai madhukar madh achavan tah jaat hai |Just as the lotus flower of fresh and clean water blooms in solitary place, but the black bee always reaches it to enjoy its elixir,
ਤੈਸੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਹ ਘਟ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸਕਲ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਤਿਹਿ ਦੁਆਰ ਬਿਲਲਾਤ ਹੈ ।੪੧੦।
taise guramukh jih ghatt pragattat prem sakal sansaar tihi duaar bilalaat hai |410|So does a devoted disciple of the True Guru whose heart is kindled with the Love of the Lord, the whole world beseeches and whines at his door. (410)
