ਜੈਸੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਦਰਪਨ ਮੈ ਨ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਛੂ ਸਕਲ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਦੇਖਤ ਦਿਖਾਵਈ ।
jaise niramal darapan mai na chitr kachhoo sakal charitr chitr dekhat dikhaavee |Just as a clean mirror has no image in it, but when one looks in it, it shows all the details in their true colours,
ਜੈਸੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਲ ਬਰਨ ਅਤੀਤ ਰੀਤ ਸਕਲ ਬਰਨ ਮਿਲਿ ਬਰਨ ਬਨਾਵਈ ।
jaise niramal jal baran ateet reet sakal baran mil baran banaavee |Just as clean water is bereft of all shades of colours, but acquires the colour that it mixes with,
ਜੈਸੇ ਤਉ ਬਸੁੰਧਰਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਬਾਸਨਾ ਰਹਿਤ ਅਉਖਧੀ ਅਨੇਕ ਰਸ ਗੰਧ ਉਪਜਾਵਈ ।
jaise tau basundharaa suaad baasanaa rahit aaukhadhee anek ras gandh upajaavee |Just as Earth is free of all tastes and desires but produces myriads of herbs of different effects, plants capable of giving many types of medicinal and aromatic extracts,
ਤੈਸੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸੇਵ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵ ਗਤਿ ਜੈਸੇ ਜੈਸੋ ਭਾਉ ਤੈਸੀ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਪੁਜਾਵਈ ।੩੩੦।
taise guradev sev alakh abhev gat jaise jaiso bhaau taisee kaamanaa pujaavee |330|Similarly with whatever sentiment one performs service of indescribable and inaccessible Lord-like True Guru, one's desires are filled accordingly. (330)
