ਆਪਨੋ ਸੁਅੰਨੁ ਸਭ ਕਾਹੂਐ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਫਲੁ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਮੈ ਸਰਾਹੀਐ ।
aapano suan sabh kaahooaai sundar laagai safal sundarataa sansaar mai saraaheeai |To everyone, his/her son looks beautiful. But one whom others praise is certainly beautiful.
ਆਪਨੋ ਬਨਜੁ ਬੁਰੋ ਲਾਗਤ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਰਿਦੈ ਜਾਇ ਜਗੁ ਭਲੋ ਕਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਤਉ ਬਿਸਾਹੀਐ ।
aapano banaj buro laagat na kaahoo ridai jaae jag bhalo kahai soee tau bisaaheeai |No one dislikes his profession, but one should trade only those commodities which are praised by others.
ਆਪਨੇ ਕਰਮੁ ਕੁਲਾ ਧਰਮ ਕਰਤ ਸਭੈ ਉਤਮੁ ਕਰਮੁ ਲੋਗ ਬੇਦ ਅਵਗਾਹੀਐ ।
aapane karam kulaa dharam karat sabhai utam karam log bed avagaaheeai |Everyone follows rites and traditions of one's family, but all deeds which are as per scriptures and according to social traditions are considered supreme.
ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਸਬ ਕੋਊ ਕਹੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੈ ਉਦਾਸੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਸੋਈ ਗੁਰ ਚਾਹੀਐ ।੫੫੩।
gur bin mukat na hoe sab koaoo kahai maaeaa mai udaas raakhai soee gur chaaheeai |553|Everyone says that no salvation can be achieved without a Guru, but one requires such a capable True Guru who can guide a person to salvation through His advice while living a householder's life, in a society and enjoying all material comforts.
