ਹਵਾਇ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਆਵੁਰਦ ਦਰ ਵਜੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।
havaae bandagee aavurad dar vajood maraa |The attraction of meditation and religious devotion brought me into this world,
ਵਗਰਨਾ ਜ਼ੋਕਿ ਚੁਨੀਂ ਨ ਬੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।੧।
vagaranaa zok chuneen na bood maraa |1|Otherwise, I had no urge to come. (1) (1)
ਖੁਸ਼ ਅਸਤ ਉਮਰ ਕਿਹ ਦਰ ਯਾਦ ਬਿਗੁਜ਼ਰਦ ਵਰਨਾ ।
khush asat umar kih dar yaad biguzarad varanaa |Only that part of my life is useful and happy that is spent in remembering the Akaalpurakh
ਚਿ ਹਾਸਲ ਅਸਤ ਅਜ਼ੀਣ ਗੁੰਬਦਿ ਕਬੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।੨।
chi haasal asat azeen gunbad kabood maraa |2|Otherwise what is the benefit to me from this blue sky or the world. (1) (2)
ਦਰਾਂ ਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਕਿ ਨਿਆਈ ਬ-ਯਾਦ ਮੀ-ਮਰਮ ।
daraan zamaan ki niaaee ba-yaad mee-maram |For any moment that you are out of my remembrance, I feel that I am dying,
ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਯਾਦਿ ਤੂ ਜ਼ੀਂ ਜ਼ੀਸਤਨ ਚਿਹ ਸੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।੩।
bagair yaad too zeen zeesatan chih sood maraa |3|What is the purpose of my life (it became worthless) without your reminiscence.(1) (3)
ਫ਼ਿਦਾਸਤ ਜਾਨੋ ਦਿਲਿ ਮਨ ਬ-ਖ਼ਾਕਿ ਮਰਦਮਿ ਪਾਕ ।
fidaasat jaano dil man ba-khaak maradam paak |I can sacrifice my heart and soul uninhibitedly for (the dust of the feet of) this holy person
ਹਰ ਆਂ ਕਸੇ ਕਿਹ ਬੂ-ਸੂਇ ਤੂ ਰਹਿ ਨਮੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।੪।
har aan kase kih boo-sooe too reh namood maraa |4|Who has shown me the way to You, the Akaalpurakh. (1) (4)
ਨਬੂਦ ਹੀਚ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਹਾ ਜ਼ਿ-ਆਸਮਾਨੋ ਜ਼ਮੀਂ ।
nabood heech nishaan haa zi-aasamaano zameen |There was no sign-posts on the Pilgrim's way through earth or sky at that time,
ਕਿ ਸ਼ੌਕਿ ਰੂਇ ਤੂ ਆਵੁਰਦ ਦਰ ਸਜੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।੫।
ki shauak rooe too aavurad dar sajood maraa |5|When my longing for Your glimpse made me prostrate in Your honor. (1) (5)
ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਯਾਦਿ ਤੂ ਗੋਯਾ ਨਮੀ ਤਵਾਨਮ ਜ਼ੀਸਤ ।
bagair yaad too goyaa namee tavaanam zeesat |O Goya! "I cannot live without Your remembrance, If pining for you ceases, then an end to life is the only thing coveted; I will be free then to move in the direction of my Beloved." (1) (6)
ਬਸੂਇ ਦੋਸਤ ਰਹਾਈ ਦਿਹੰਦ ਜ਼ੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।੬।੧।
basooe dosat rahaaee dihand zood maraa |6|1|Both the religion and the actions of the world are in the grip of my beloved, handsome and fairy-faced friend.
