(Lord,) You are the definition of celibacy!

(Lord,) You are the means for a virtuous deed!

ਗਤਸ ਤੁਹੀਂ ॥

ਖੂਕ ਮਲਹਾਰੀ ਗਜ ਗਦਹਾ ਬਿਭੂਤਧਾਰੀ ਗਿਦੂਆ ਮਸਾਨ ਬਾਸ ਕਰਿਓ ਈ ਕਰਤ ਹੈਂ ॥

khook malahaaree gaj gadahaa bibhootadhaaree gidooaa masaan baas kario ee karat hain |

If the Lord is realized by eating filth, by besmearing the body with ashes and by residing in he cremation-ground, then the hog eats filth, the elephant and ass get their bodies filled with ashes and the bager resides in the cremation-ground.

ਘੁਘੂ ਮਟ ਬਾਸੀ ਲਗੇ ਡੋਲਤ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤਰਵਰ ਸਦੀਵ ਮੋਨ ਸਾਧੇ ਈ ਮਰਤ ਹੈਂ ॥

ghughoo matt baasee lage ddolat udaasee mrig taravar sadeev mon saadhe ee marat hain |

If the Lord meets in the cloister of mendicants, by wandering like a stoic and abiding in silence, then the owl lives in the cloister of mendicants, the deer wanders like a stoic and the tree abides in silence till death.

ਬਿੰਦ ਕੇ ਸਧਯਾ ਤਾਹਿ ਹੀਜ ਕੀ ਬਡਯਾ ਦੇਤ ਬੰਦਰਾ ਸਦੀਵ ਪਾਇ ਨਾਗੇ ਹੀ ਫਿਰਤ ਹੈਂ ॥

bind ke sadhayaa taeh heej kee baddayaa det bandaraa sadeev paae naage hee firat hain |

If the Lord is realized by restraining the emission of semen and by wandering with bare feet, then a eunuch may be eulogized for restraining the emission of semen and the monkey always wanders with bare feet.

ਅੰਗਨਾ ਅਧੀਨ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਏਕ ਗਿਆਨ ਕੇ ਬਿਹੀਨ ਛੀਨ ਕੈਸੇ ਕੈ ਤਰਤ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥੭੧॥

anganaa adheen kaam krodh mai prabeen ek giaan ke biheen chheen kaise kai tarat hain |1|71|

One who is under the control of a woman and whou is active in lust and anger and also who is ignorant of the Knowledge of the ONE LORD, how can such person ferry across the world-ocean? 1.71.

ਭੂਤ ਬਨਚਾਰੀ ਛਿਤ ਛਉਨਾ ਸਭੈ ਦੂਧਾਧਾਰੀ ਪਉਨ ਕੇ ਅਹਾਰੀ ਸੁ ਭੁਜੰਗ ਜਾਨੀਅਤੁ ਹੈਂ ॥

bhoot banachaaree chhit chhaunaa sabhai doodhaadhaaree paun ke ahaaree su bhujang jaaneeat hain |

If the Lord is realized by wandering in the forest, by drinking only the milk and by subsisting on air, then the ghost wanders in the forest, all the infants live on milk and the serpents subsist on air.

ਤ੍ਰਿਣ ਕੇ ਭਛਯਾ ਧਨ ਲੋਭ ਕੇ ਤਜਯਾ ਤੇ ਤੋ ਗਊਅਨ ਕੇ ਜਯਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਯਾ ਮਾਨੀਅਤੁ ਹੈਂ ॥

trin ke bhachhayaa dhan lobh ke tajayaa te to gaooan ke jayaa brikhabhayaa maaneeat hain |

If the Lord meets by eating grass and forsaking the gred of wealth, then the Bulls, the young ones of cows do that.
