Gave this lowly fistful of dust the brightness and shine of the sun. (352)
May we sacrifice ourselves for that dust that became enlightened and radiant,
And, which was fortunate enough to deserve such boons and blessings. (353)
Wonderful is the Nature that brings in the fruits of truth,
And, which blesses the humble fistful of dust the power to speak. (354)
It is the meditation of Waaheguru that is the achievement of this life;
May we sacrifice ourselves for the eye that becomes overawed and gets obsessed with the Truth (God). (355)
How blessed is the heart that has an innocent eagerness for the love of God!
In fact, he becomes a fervent and fascinated devotee for His love. (356)
Blessed is the head that bows to the real path of Truth, the God;
And, who like the crooked stick with a grip, ran away with the ball of elation. (357)
Wonderful are those hands that have written His praises and lauds;
Blessed are those feet that have passed through His street. (358)
Noble is the tongue that meditates on His Naam;
And, virtuous is the mind that concentrates its thoughts on Waaheguru. (359)
Akaalpurakh abides in every limb of our bodies,
And, the zeal and ardor for His love is assimilated in the heads of all men and women. (360)
All desires and wishes are concentrated in His direction,
And, fondness for Him is absorbed in every hair of our bodies. (361)
If you want that you become master of divine thought,
Then, you should sacrifice your life for your Beloved Waaheguru, so that you will acquire the same shape and form that He has. (362)
You should sacrifice all that you have for your true Beloved,
And, pick up scraps of food from His dining table just for a moment. (363)
If you become completely desirous of His true knowledge and enlightenment,
Then, you will, inevitably, achieve your purpose. (364)
You will receive your life's fruits,
When the sun of divine knowledge would bless you with just one ray of its radiance. (365)
Your name would become famous and illuminated;
And, your ardor for divine knowledge would make you extremely popular in this world. (366)
Whosoever developed special affection and fondness for divine love,
With his key, all locks of the hearts got opened up (realities became known). (367)
You should, too, open up the lock of your heart, and from the hidden
treasure, should derive unlimited pleasure and elation. (368)
In the nooks of your heart, numerous gems and diamonds are lying hidden;
And, your treasure and wealth contain many royal pearls. (369)
Then whatever you would desire to obtain from this infinite treasure,
O person of high status! You would be able to get. (370)
Therefore you should call upon the faithful devotees of Akaalpurakh,
So that you would be able to inculcate such an ardor and zeal for Him. (371)
If you can acquire the strong desire for the love of Waaheguru,
Then, the blessing of their company is bound to influence you and your personality. (372)
Even though, there is nothing else but the Almighty abides in the hearts of every one,
Still, the true and sincere enlightened persons have a high status and elevated destination. (373)
No one other than the knowledgeable is aware of the condition(s) of Akaalpurakh,
The enlightened do not speak any words other than the discourses and meditation of the Naam of Waaheguru. (374)
The kings abdicated their thrones, luxurious living and royal powers,
And they kept roaming around from street to street like beggars. (375)
For all of them, it is essential to continue to get engaged in the true memory of the Omnipotent;
And, thus, get redemption from the cycles of births and deaths in both the worlds. (376)
If ever one can come across some one who is familiar with this path and tradition,
Then, all aims and objectives of government administration would be fulfilled. (377)
If all forces of the army were to becomes seekers of Divine Power,
Then, in fact, they all can become enlightened persons indeed. (378)
If we can run into a fellow traveler of this path, and ask him about its true tradition;
Then, how can his mind turn away from this royal kingdom? (379)
If the seed of Truth can be cultivated in the fields of mind,
Then, all suspicions and illusions of our mind will be eliminated. (380)
They can sit on a diamond studded throne for good
If they can inculcate the meditation of Akaalpurakh in their minds, (381)
Fragrance of Truth is emitting from their each and every hair,
In fact, every one is becoming alive and getting invigorated with the aroma of the company of such people. (382)
Waaheguru's Naam would not have been outside their bodies,
If the perfect Guru had indicated to them with the information about His whereabouts and location. (In stead of looking outside, they could have attained His convergence from within their own hearts.)(383)
The elixir of life is, in fact, inside the heart's so called abode,
But the world would not know about this fact without a perfect Guru. (384)
When the True Master is nearer than even your main artery,
O ignorant and amateur person! Then why are you roaming around jungles and wilderness. (385)
When someone familair and well conversant with this path becomes your guide,
You will be able to achieve solitude within the company of noble persons. (386)
Whatever worldly possessions they have,
They are willing to relinquish them in one instalment instantly. (387)
So that they could achieve the Ultimate Entity,
For this reason, they follow completely the perfectly enlightened persons. (388)
Perfect saints can transform you also into perfect saints;
And, they can fulfill all your desires and wishes. (389)
The truth in it is that you should adopt the path leading towards the Lord,
So that you, too, can shine like the brilliance of the sun. (390)
The true Akaalpurakh, abiding in your heart, extends His love to you;
And, the perfect and complete Guru like a true friend assists you in this process. (391)
If you can run into someone who is familiar with this (divine) path,
Then, you will discover all types of material and non-material wealth and treasures inside you. (392)
Whosoever has come across a true Guru,
The true Guru will put on the crown of true divine knowledge on his head. (393)
The true and perfect Guru can make one conversant with the mysteries and love of Waaheguru,
And, helps in achieving the eternal divine wealth. (394)
Persons from both the worlds obey his (the Guru's) command spontaneously,
And, both the worlds are willing to lay their lives for him. (395)
The real gratitude for Akaalpurakh is the (achievement of) true divine knowledge,
And, the immortal wealth emerges showing its face to the enlightened persons. (396)
When, by abiding the All-powerful in his heart, recognized His Entity,
Take it that he achieved the treasure of eternal life. (397)
He, the Almighty Lord, abides inside your heart, but you keep running around outside,
He is right inside your home, but you keep going (outside) for Hadj in search of Him. (398)
When He manifests Himself from each and every hair of your body,
Where do you stray outside to track Him out (to hunt for Him). (399)
The splendor of Akaalpurakh radiates in your home-like-heart in such a way,
Just like the bright moon shines (during moonlit nights) in the sky. (400)
It is the Provident who enables you to see through your tearful eyes,
And, it is His command that speaks from your tongue. (401)
This body of yours is radiant because of the splendor of Akaalpurakh,
This entire world is shining with His refulgence. (402)
But you are not aware of your inside situation and condition,
You are distraught day and night because of your own actions and deeds. (403)
The perfect true Guru makes you Waaheguru's confidant,
He provides ointment and dressing for the pain of the wounds of separation. (404)
So that you can also become one of Waaheguru's close companions,
And, you could become the master of your heart with a noble character. (405)
You have ever been perplexed and confused about the Akaalpurakh,
Because, you have been troubled for ages searching for Him. (406)
What to speak of you alone! The whole world is perplexed indeed for Him,
This sky and the fourth firmament are all distressed about Him. (407)
This sky revolves around Him for the reason
That it, too, can adopt noble virtues because of its fondness for Him. (408)
The people of the whole world are amazed and confused about Waaheguru,
Just like the beggars are looking for Him from street to street. (409)
The king of both the worlds is abiding inside the heart,
But this body of our is mired in water and mud. (410)
When the True Image of Waaheguru definitely made a stern image and abode in your heart.
Then O devotee of True Akaalpurakh! Your entire family, out of elation and euphoria, will be transformed itself into His image. (411)
The form of Akaalpurakh is really the symbol of His Naam,
Therefore, you should drink the nectar from the cup of Truth. (412)
The Lord that I have been looking for from home to home,
Suddenly, I discovered Him inside my own home (body). (413)
This blessing is from the true and perfect Guru,
Whatever I wanted or needed, I could get that from Him. (414)
No one else can fulfill his heart's desire,
And, every beggar is not able to acquire royal riches. (415)
Do not bring any name other than that of the Guru on your tongue,
In fact, a perfect Guru alone can give us the correct whereabouts of Akaalpurakh. (416)
There may be numerous teachers and instructors for every item (in this world),
However, when can one meet a perfect Guru? (417)
The chaste Waaheguru fulfilled the keen desire of my heart,
And provided succor to the heart-broken. (418)
To meet a perfect Guru is the real attainment of Akaalpurakh,
Because it is him (Him) who can bestow tranquility to the mind and the soul. (419)
O my heart! Firstly, you must get rid of your vanity and ego,
So that you could get the correct direction from His street to the path of Truth. (420)
If you can get to know the perfect and complete true Guru,
Then, you can be the master of this heart without any (ritual) problems. (421)
Whosoever has not been able to eradicate his self ego,
The Akaalpurakh does not divulge His mysteries to him. (422)
Whatever is there, is inside the house, the human body,
You should walk around your heart's field of crops; the grain of enlightenment is there only inside it. (423)
When the complete and perfect true Guru becomes your guide and mentor,
You would then become very well informed and conversant about your Waaheguru. (424)
If your heart can be motivated and inspired towards the Omnipotent,
Then, there would be a pouring showers of His Naam in every hair of your body. (425)
Then, all your desires in this world would be fulfilled,
And, you will bury all the worries and apprehensions of the time. (426)
Nothing exists in this world outside your body,
You should introspect just for a moment to realize your own self. (427)
You will be bestowed with the Waaheguru's true boon for ever,
If you can appreciate (the stark distinction) as to who you are and who God is? (428)
Who am I? I am just one particle of one fistful of dust of top-layer,
All this blessing, due to my good fortune, was bestowed upon me by my true Guru. (429)
Great is the true Guru who has blessed me with Akaalpurakh's sacred Naam,
With his enormous kindness and compassion to this fistful of dust. (430)
Great is the true Guru who has, blind minds like mine,
Made them refulgent on both the earth and the sky. (431)
Great is the true Guru who has blessed my heart with a keen desire and fondness,
Blessed is the true Guru who has broken all the limitations and shackles of my heart. (432)
Great is the true Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, who introduced me to the Lord,
And, got me redeemed from worldly worries and griefs. (433)
Great is the true Guru who has blessed persons like me the eternal life only
because of the Naam of the Untraceable Akaalpurakh. (434)
Great is the perfect and true Guru, who has
Illuminated just a drop of water like the brightness of moon and the sun. (435)
Blessed is that true Guru and blessed are his numerous boons and bestowals,
For whom millions of people like me are willing to sacrifice themselves. (436)
His Naam pervades and is prevalent over the earth and the sky,
It is Him who fulfills all the strong desires of His disciples. (437)
Whosoever is elated and satisfied on hearing His conversation,
Take it that he will be face to face with the Almighty for ever. (438)
The Akaalpurakh is always present before him,
And, the meditation and remembrance of Waaheguru always abides in his heart. (439)
If you have the yearning to be face to face to the Omnipotent,
Then, you should try to be face to face to the perfect and complete Guru. (440)
A perfect Guru is, in fact, the image of the Omnipresent,
A glimpse of such a perfect Guru provides succor and serenity to the heart and soul. (441)
The perfect and true Guru is, indeed, an image of Akaalpurakh,
Anyone who has turned himself away from him, was discarded and thrown away like a trash. (442)
The perfect and the true Guru does not utter anything but the truth,
No one else but him has been able to pierce the pearl of this spiritual idea. (443)
How far and how much can I thank Him for His bestowals ?
Whatever comes on my lips and tongue, I would consider that as a boon. (444)
When Akaalpurakh cleansed the heart from filth, profanity and muck
The complete and perfect Guru bestowed the good sense to it. (445)
Otherwise, how could we find out the true path of God ?
And, when and how could we learn a lesson from the book of Truth? (446)
If all this is the bestowal of the true Guru out of his compassion and kindness,
Then, those who do not know or appreciate the Guru, are, indeed, apostates. (447)
The perfect and true Guru removes the maladies of the heart,
In fact, all your cravings are fulfilled within your heart itself (448)
When the perfect Guru correctly diagnosed the pulse of the heart,
Then the life attained the purpose of its existence. (449)
Because of the perfect and true Guru, the human being gets an eternal life,
With his grace and kindness, one attains the mastery and control of the heart. (450)
This human being came into this world only to attain the Akaalpurakh,
And, keeps wandering in His separation as a lunatic. (451)
This true deal is available only at the shop of Truth,
The complete and perfect Guru is the symbolic image of Akaalpurakh Himself. (452)
The perfect Guru, reference here is to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, bestows chastity and holiness upon you;
And, drags you out of the well (depths) of grief and sorrow. (453)
The perfect and true Guru removes the maladies of the heart,
With which, all the heart's desires are achieved (fulfilled) within the heart itself. (454)
The company of noble souls is, by itself, an extraordinary wealth,
All this (these) is attained only through the support of the noble persons' company. (455)
O my dear ! Please listen to what I have to say,
So that you can realize the secret and mystery of life and the body. (456)
You should become friendly to the seekers of the Waaheguru's devotees,
And should not bring any word other than the meditation of the Naam of Akaalpurakh on your tongue and lips. (457)
You should become and act like dust, i.e., be humble, and become the dust of the passage of the holy men,
And, do not worry about this frivolous and undignified world. (458)
If you can read the book of glory of romance,
Then, you could become the address and headline of the book of love. (459)
Love for Waaheguru transforms you into the very image of Waaheguru Himself,
And, makes you lofty and famous in both the worlds. (460)
O my Akaalpurakh! Kindly bless this heart of mine with Your devotion and love,
And, also bestow upon me the savor of the euphoria of Your love. (461)
So that, I can spend my days and nights remembering You,
And, You bless me with redemption from the shackles of worries and griefs of this world. (462)
Kindly bless me with such a treasure that should be permanent and everlasting,
Also bless me with the company (of such persons) that can dispel all my worries and griefs. (463)
Kindly bless me with such intentions and purposes that should worship the Truth,
Kindly bless me with such a courage and fortitude that I should be prepared to sacrifice my life to venture to go on the road to God. (464)
Whatever there is, he should be prepared to sacrifice on Your account,
Should also be prepared to sacrifice both the life and the soul on the path of Akaalpurakh. (465)
Bless my eyes with the sweet taste of Your glimpse,
And, bless my heart with the treasures of Your mysteries and secrets. (466)
Kindly bless our charred hearts with the fervor (of Your love)
And, bless us with a strap (dog-collar) of meditation in our necks. (467)
Please bless our "separation (from you)" with a strong yearning to meet with You,
And, bestow Your beneficence on the autumn-like-state of our bodies. (468)
Kindly transform, with your Benefaction, each hair on my body into a tongue,
So that I could keep uttering and singing Your kudos in my every breath after breath. (469)
The eclat and glories of Akaalpurakh are beyond any words or conversation,
This discourse and tale of the true King can be heard in every street after street. (470)
Do you know as to what is the essence of this street?
You should utter only His approbations and nothing else. This is life. (471)
It is superb to live with His constant meditation,
Even though we may be the masters of the body from head to toes. (472)
If the all Truth Akaalpurakh blesses someone with courage and capability,
Then that person can earn laurels because of meditation. (473)
Meditation is the marvel and cornerstone of being a human being,
And, meditation is the real sign of being alive. (474)
The (purpose of) life of a human being is indeed the meditation of Akaalpurakh,
The remembrance of Waaheguru is the real (purpose of) life. (475)
If you are looking for some signs and symbols of life for yourself,
Then, it is absolutely appropriate for you to keep on meditating(on the Naam of Akaalpurakh). (476)
As far as possible, you should become an humble person like a servant, and not an arrogant master,
A person should not be looking for anything in this world except meditation of the Almighty. (477)
This body of dust becomes sacred only due to the remembrance of the Provident,
To get involved in any conversation other than the meditation will be nothing but an utter shame. (478)
You should meditate so that you become acceptable in His court,
And, give up the pattern of self ego and the way of life of that of an apostate. (479)
The meditation is extremely pleasing to the heart of the Master of all hearts,
Your status in this world remains high at all times only because of meditation. (480)
The perfect and true Guru said like this,
He has inhabited you desolate heart with the remembrance of Waaheguru." (481) You should etch this command of the perfectly true Guru in your heart, So that you can have your head high in both the worlds. (482) This command of the perfect and true Guru transforms your body of copper into that of gold, And, this gold is realized only through the memory of Akaalpurakh. (483) This materialistic gold is destructible and is the root cause and whirlpool of numerous problems and conflicts, The gold of meditation, however, like the Entity of Omnipresent and True Waaheguru is permanent. (484) The (true) wealth is in the dust of the feet of the noble and accepted souls, It is such a true wealth that it is above and beyond any damage or loss. (485) You must have noticed that every spring brings in the autumn, Although the spring keeps coming into this world again and again. (486) However, this meditational form of spring remains fresh and new till the doomsday, O Akaalpurakh! Kindly keep the influence of the evil eye far away from this spring . (487) Anyone who happens to obtain the collyrium of the dust of the feet of the holy persons, Rest assured that his face will shine like the brilliance and radiance of the divine sun. (488) Even though spiritually enlightened person lives in this world, He, in fact, is always a seeker-devotee of the Waaheguru. (489) He meditates and describes His virtues every breath of his life, And, he recites verses of His Naam every moment in His honor. (490) They keep directing their hearts and concentrating towards thoughts about Him, They make their intellect fragrant with the aroma of the memory of Akaalpurakhb in every breath. (491) He always concentrates and is united with the Almighty at all times, And, he has been able to achieve the real fruits of this life. (492) The real fruits of this life lies with the Guru, And, silent repetition and meditation of His Naam is always on his tongue and the lips. (493) The true Guru is the apparent glimpse of Akaalpurakh, Therefore, you should listen to His mysteries from his tongue. (494) A true Guru is indeed a perfect personification of the image of God, And, the image of Akaalpurakh always abides in his heart. (495) When His image resides permanently in someone's heart, Then, just one word of Akaalpurakh settles down in the depths of his heart. (496) I have threaded these grains of pearls into a necklace, So that this arrangement may make the ignorant hearts aware of the secrets of Waaheguru. (497) (This compilation) Like a cup is filled to the brim with the divine elixir, That is why, it has been given the name 'Zindagee Naamaa'. (498) From his speeches emerges the fragrance of divine knowledge, With it, the knot (mysteries and suspicions) of the heart of the world is untangled. (499) Whosoever recites this with the grace and compassion of Waaheguru, He receives laurels among the enlightened persons. (500) This volume contains description and delineation of sacred and divine men; This description lightens up the intelligence and the wisdom. (501) O informed person! In this volume, there is no other word or expression except the words or expressions of remembrance and meditation of Akaalpuralkh. (502) Remembrance of Waaheguru is the treasure of the enlightened minds, Everything else other than the meditation of Waaheguru is (absolutely) useless. (503) Do not read or even look at any word or expression except the ones about meditation of the Omnipotent, Remembrance of God, yes remembrance of God, and only remembrance of God. (504) O Akaalpurakh! Kindly make every withered and disheartened mind green and confident again, And, refresh and rejuvenate every wilted and languishing mind. (505) O Waaheguru! Kindly help this person, yours truly, And, make every ashamed and timid person successful and triumphant. (506) O Akaalpurakh! (Kindly) bless the heart of Goyaa with the yearning of love (for You), And, bestow upon the tongue of Goyaa just one particle of the fondness for Your love. (507) So that he would not meditate or remember anyone other than the Lord, And, so that he would not learn or recite any other lesson except that of the love and devotion for Waaheguru. (508) So that he would not speak any other word except the meditation and remembrance of Akaalpurakh, So that he would not recite or read any other word or expression except that the one(s) on the concentration of spiritual thought. (509) (O Akaalpurakh!) Kindly make my eyes refulgent with glow by blessing me with a glimpse of the Almighty, Kindly remove everything from my heart except the entity of God. (510) Ganj Nama Every morning and evening, my heart and soul, My head and forehead with faith and clarity (1) Shall sacrifice for my Guru, And sacrifice with humility by bowing my head millions of times. (2) Because, he created angels out of ordinary human beings, And, he elevated the status and honor of the earthly beings. (3) All those honored by Him are, in fact, the dust of His feet, And, all gods and goddesses are willing to sacrifice themselves for Him. (4) Even though, thousands of moons and suns might be shinig, Still the whole world will be in pitch darkness without Him. (5) Holy and chaste Guru is the image of Akaalpurakh Himself, That is the reason that I have settled Him inside my heart. (6) Those persons who do not contemplate Him, Take it that they have wasted the fruit of their heart and soul for nothing. (7) This field loaded with cheap fruits, When he looks at them to his heart's content, (8) Then he gets a special kind of pleasure to look at them, And, he runs towards them to pluck them. (9) However, he does not get any results from his fields, And, returns disappointed hungry, thirsty and debilitated. (10) Without Satguru, you should consider everything to be like as if The field is ripe and grown but full of weeds and thorns. (11) Pehlee Paatshaahee (Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji) The first Sikh Guru, Guur Nanak Dev Ji, was the one who glistened the true and all-powerful refulgence of the Almighty and to highlight the significance of knowledge of complete faith in Him. He was the one who elevated the flag of eternal spirituality and eliminated the darkness of ignorance of divine enlightenment and who took upon his own shoulders the responsibility of propagating the message of Akaalpurakh. Beginning from the earliest time to the present world, everyone considers himself to be the dust at his door; The highest-ranked, the Lord, Himself sings his praises; and his disciple-student is the divine lineage of Waaheguru Himself. Every fourth and sixth angel is unable to describe Guru's eclat in their expressions; and his radiance filled flag is flying over both the worlds. Examples of his command are the brilliant rays emanating from the Provident and when compared to him, millions of suns and moons get drowned in the oceans of darkness. His words, messages and orders are the supreme for the people of the world and his recommendations rank absolutely first in both the worlds. His true titles are the guide for both the worlds; and his true disposition is the compassion for the sinful. The gods in the court of Waaheguru consider it a privilege to kiss the dust of his lotus feet and the angles of the higher court are slaves and servitors of this mentor. Both the ens (N's) in his name depict nurturer, nourisher ans neighborly (boons, support and benefactions); the middle A represents the Akaalpurakh, and the last K represents the Ultimate great prophet. His mendicancy raises the bar of detachment from the worldly distractions to the highest level and his generosity and benevolence prevails all over both the worlds. (12) Waaheguru is the Truth, Waaheguru is Omnipresent His name is Nanak, the emperor and his religion is the truth, And that, there has not been another prophet like him who emanated in this world. (13) His mendicancy (by precept and practice) lifts the head of saintly living to lofty heights, And, in his view, everyone should be prepared to venture his life for the principles of truth and noble deeds. (14) Whether special person of high status or ordinary people, whether angels or Whether onlookers of the heavenly court, all of them are desirous-petitioners of the dust of his lotus feet. (15) When God Himself is showering praises on him, what can I add to that? In fact, how should I travel on the path of approbations? (16) Millions from the world of souls, the angels, are his devotees, And, millions of people from this world are also his disciples. (17) Gods of the metaphysical world are all willing to sacrifice themselves for him, And, even all the angels of the spiritual world are also prepared to follow suit. (18) People of this world are all his creations as angels, And, his glimpse is clearly manifested on the lips of everyone. (19) All his associates enjoying his company become knowledgeable (of spiritualism) And, they begin to describe the glories of Waaheguru in their speeches. (20) Their honor and esteem, status and rank and name and imprints stay in this world forever; And, the chaste Creator bestows upon them a higher rank than others. (21) When the prophet of both the world addressed Through his benefaction, the all-powerful Waaheguru, he said (22) Then he said, "I am Your servitor, and I am Your slave,
And, I am the dust of the feet of all of Your ordinary and special people." (23) Thus when he addressed Him like this (in stark humility) Then he got the same response again and again. (24) That I, the Akaalpurkh, abide in you and I do not recognize anyone other than you, Whatever I, the Waheeguru, desire, I do; and I do only the justice." (25)
You should show the meditation (of my Naam) to the entire world,
And, make every one chaste and sacred through My (Akaalpurakh's) kudos." (26) I am your friend and well wisher at all places and in all situations, and I am your refuge; I am there to support you, and I am your avid fan." (27)
Anyone who would try to elevate your name and make you famous,
He would, in fact, be approbating Me with his heart and soul." (28) Then, kindly show me Your Limitless Entity, And, thus make my difficult resolves and situations eased up. (29) You should come to this world and act like a guide and captain, Because this world is not worth even a grain of barley without Me, the Akaalpurakh." (30)
In reality, when I am your guide and steer,
Then, you should traverse the journey of this world with your own feet." (31) Whomsoever I like and I show him the direction in this world, Then, for his sake, I bring elation and happiness in his heart." (32)
Whomsoever I will misdirect and put him on a wrong track out of My indignation for him,
He will not be able to reach Me, the Akaalpurakh, in spite of your advice and counsel." (33) This world is being misdirected and strayed without me, My sorcery has become the sorcerer himself. (34) My charms and spells bring the dead back alive, And, those who are living (in sin) kill them. (35) My charms transform the 'fire' into ordinary water, And, with the ordinary water, they extinguish and cool off the fires. (36) My charms do whatever they like; And, they mystify with their spell all material and non-material things. (37) Please divert their path in my direction, So that they can adopt and acquisition my words and message. (38) They do not go for any spells except My meditation, And, they do not move in any direction other than towards My door. (39) Because they have been spared of the Hades, Otherwise, they would fall with their hands tied down. (40) This whole world, from one end to the other, Is relaying the message that this world is cruel and corrupt. (41) They do not realize any grief or happiness because of me, And, without me, they all are confused and perplexed. (42) They congregate and from the stars They count the number of days of sorrow and happiness. (43) Then they pen down their good and not-so-good fortunes in their horoscopes, And say, sometimes before and other times afterwards, as: (44) They are not firm and consistent in their meditation chores, And, they talk and project themselves like confused and perplexed persons. (45) Divert their attention and face towards My meditation So that they will not consider anything other than discourses about Me as their friend. (46) So that I could set their worldly tasks on the right path, And, I could improve and refine their inclinations and tendencies with the divine glow. (47) I have created you for this purpose So that you should be the leader to steer the whole world towrads the right path. (48) You should dispel the love for dualism from their hearts and minds, And, you should direct them towards the true path. (49) The Guru (Nanak) said, "How can I be so capable of this stupendous task
That I should be able to divert the minds of everyone towards the true path." (50) The Guru said, "I am no where near such a miracle,
I am lowly without any virtues compared to the grandiose and exquisiteness of the form of Akaalpurakh." (51) However, Your command is entirely acceptable to my heart and soul, And, I shall not be negligent of Your order even for a moment." (52)
Only you are the guide to lead the people to the right path, and you are the mentor for all;
You are the one who can lead the way and who can mold the minds of all people to your way of thinking. (53)
Second Guru, Guru Angad Dev Ji
The second Guru, Guru Angad Dev Ji, became the first supplicating disciple of Guru Nanak Sahib. Then he transformed himself into a mentor worth supplicating to.
The light emitted from the flame of his strong faith in truth and belief, due to his disposition and personality, was far greater than that of the day.
Both he and his mentor, Guru Nanak, had, in fact, one soul but outwardly were two torches to glisten the minds and the hearts of the people.
Intrinsically, they were one but overtly were two sparks that could singe everything but the truth.
The second Guru was the wealth and treasure and the leader of the special persons of the court of the Akaalpurakh.
He became the anchor for the people who were acceptable in the divine court.
He was a selected member of the heavenly court of the majestic and awe-inspiring Waaheguru and had received high praises from Him.
The first letter of his name, 'Aliph', is the one that encompasses the virtues and blessings of high and low, rich and poor, and the king and the mendicant.
The aroma of the truth-filled letter 'Noon' in his name bestows and cares for the high rulers and the low like menials.
The next letter in his name 'Gaaf' represents the traveler of the path to the eternal congregation and for the world to stay in the highest spirits.
The last letter in his name, 'Daal' is the cure for all diseases and pains and is above and beyond progression and recession. (54)
Waaheguru is the Truth,
Waaheguru is Omnipresent
Guru Angad is the prophet for both the worlds,
With the grace of Akaalpurakh, he is the blessing for the sinners. (55)
What to talk of just two worlds! With his bestowals,
Thousands worlds are successful to get redemption. (56)
His body is the treasure of the graces of the forgiving Waaheguru,
He manifested from Him and at the end, he got absorbed in Him as well. (57)
He is always manifest whether he is visible or hidden,
He is present everywhere here and there, inside and outside. (58)
His admirer is, in fact, an admirer of Akaalpurakh,
And, his disposition is a page from the tome of the gods. (59)
He cannot be admired enough by the tongues of both the worlds,
And, for him, the vast courtyard of the soul is not large enough. (60)
Therefore, it would be prudent for us that we should, from his eclat and beneficence
And His kindness and generosity, obtain His command. (61)
Our heads should, therefore, always bow at His lotus feet,
And, our heart and soul should always be willing to sacrifice themselves for Him. (62)
Third Guru Guru Amar Das Ji
The Third Guru, Guru Amar Das Ji, was the noursiher-upholder of truth, emperor of regions and expansive ocean of bestowals and largess.
The strong and powerful angel of death was subservient to him, and the chief of gods of maintaining the accounts of each and every person was under his supervision.
The glow of the garb of the flame of truth, and the blossoming of the closed buds is their joy and happiness.
The first letter of his holy name, 'Alif', bestows elation and serenity to every strayed person.
The sacred 'Meem", blesses the ear of every grieved and afflicted person with the savor of poetry. The fortunate 'Ray' of his name is the glory and grace of his divine face and the well-intentioned 'Daal' is the support of every helpless. The second 'Alif' of his name provides protection and refuge to every sinner and the last 'Seen' is the image of the Almighty Waaheguru. (63) Waaheguru is the Truth, Waaheguru is Omnipresent Gueu Amar Das was from a great family lineage, Whose personality received the wherewithal (to complete the task) from the compassion and benignity of Akaalpurakh. (64) He is uperior than all in terms of laudation and admiration, He is sitting cross-legged on the seat of the truthful Akaalpurakh. (65) This world is glittering with the radiance of his message, And, this earth and the world have transformed into a beautiful garden due to his fairness. (66) What to talk about eighty thousand population, in fact, both the worlds are his slaves and servitors. His praises and extols are innumerable and beyond any count. (67) Fourth Guru, Guru Ram Das Ji The rank of the fourth Guru, Guru Ram Das Ji, is higher than the ranks of the four holy sects of angels. Those who have been accepted in the Divine Court are ever ready to perform service for him. Every unfortunate, ignoble, debased, sordid and mean person, who has sought refuge at his door, he, due to the greatness of the blessings of the fourth Guru, gets enthroned on the seat of honor and eclat. Any sinner and immoral person who had meditated on his Naam, take it, that he was able to shake off the filth and the dirt of his crimes and sins far away from the ends of his body. The ever-gifted 'Ray' in his name is the soul of every body; the first 'Alif' in his name is better and higher than every other name; the 'Meem' that is the model of the benevolence and kindness from head to toe is the favorite of the Omnipotent; the 'Daal' including 'Alif' in his name is always attuned to the Naam of Waaheguru. (69) He includes (in his personality) symbols of both royalty and renunciation, And, he is the king of kings. (70) The tongues of all the three worlds, the earth, the underworld, and the skies, are incapable to describe his eclat, And, pearls-like messages and words (metaphors and expressions) from the four Vedaas and six Shaastraas emerge from his utterances. (71) Akaalpurakh has selected him as one of His specially close favorites, And, has elevated him to even a higher position than His personal sacred souls. (72) Everyone prostrates before him with a truthful and clear conscience, Whether he is high or low, a king or a mendicant. (73) Fifth Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji The fifth Guru, the burnisher of the flames of the previous four Gurus of heavenly glow, was the fifth successor to the divine seat of Guru Nanak. He was the withholder of the truth and the disseminator of the brilliance of Akaalpurakh, a teacher of high status with spiritual ostentation because of his own greatness and his rank was a way higher than the five sacred sections of the society. He was the favorite of the heavenly shrine and a beloved of the extraordinary divine court. He was one with God and vice versa. Our tongue is incapable to describe his virtues and kudos. Persons of distinction are the dust of his path, and the heavenly angels are under his auspicious patronage. The letter 'Alif' in the word Arjan that implies to weave the whole world into one link and is the proponent of the unity of Waaheguru, is the supporter and helper to every hopeless, cursed and disdained person. The 'Ray' in his name is the friend of every tired, languid and exhausted individual. The heavenly aromatic 'Jeem' blesses freshness to the faithful and the companion of largess, 'Noon', patronizes the devoted believers. (77) Verses full of divine thought comes down out of him, And, faith and trust-revealing essays, full of spiritual enlightenment, are also from him. (78) Divine thought and conversation get the glitter and shine from him, And, the divine beauty also gets its freshness and bloom from him.(79) The Sixth Guru, Guru Har Gobind Ji The personality of sixth Guru, Guru Har Gobind Ji, was spreading holy glitters and represented the form and the shape of scared lights. The penetrating glow of the beams of his blessings was providing day light to the world, and the radiance of his laudation was the one that would remove the darkness for those living in utter ignorance. His sword would annihilate the tyrannical enemies and his arrows could easily break open the stones. His chaste miracles were as clear and bright as the clear day; and his lofty court was more lustrous than every high and holy sky. He was the gaiety of the congregations where discourses of imparting the spiritual education were held and where the magnificence of the five torches that adorn the world was highlighted. The first 'Hay' of his name was the bestower of the divine teachings of Waaheguru's Naam and was the guide for both the worlds. The compassionate 'Ray' of his name was the pupil and darling of everyone's eye; the Farsi 'Kaaf' (Gaaf) represented a pearl of divine affection and amity and the first 'Vaayo' was the rose providing freshness. Millions of people from all the seven directions and nine boundaries are standing in attention at his gate and the holy angels and gods are his obedient servitors. He is the one who can break the noose of death; the chest of dreadful Yamraaj bursts open (with envy) when he listens to his laudation. He occupies the immortal throne and is the favorite in the court of ever-bestowing-eternal Akaalpurakh. Granter of blessings and boons, the Akaalpurakh Himself, is desirous of him and his strength is overpowering over His powerful Nature. The 'Kaaf' of his sacred name is soothing for those who are the near and dear ones of Waaheguru. The truth-tilted 'Ray' provides nectarous eternal savor for the angels. The 'Alif' along with 'Tay' in his name is powerful enough to crumple and mangle the hands of famous wrestlers like Rustam and Behman. The 'Hay' along with 'Ray' can defeat the armed and weapon-wearing influential angels of the skies. The 'Ray' along with 'Alif' can tame even the strong lions, and his last 'Yeh' is supporter of every common and special person. (86) Waaheguru is the Truth Waaheguru is Omnipresent Guru Kartaa Har Raaye was the nourisher and the anchor for truth; He was royalty as well as a mendicant. (87) Guru Har Rai is the bewtower for both the worlds, Guru Kartaa Har Rai is the chief of both this and the next worlds. (88) Even the Akaalpurakh is a connoisseur of the boons granted by Guru Har Rai, All special persons become successful only because of Guru Har Rai (89) The discourses of Guru Har Rai are the royalty of 'truth', And, Guru Har Rai is commanding all the nine skies. (90) Guru Kartaa Har Rai is the one to sever the heads of the rebels and arrogant tyrants (from their bodies), On the other hand, He is the friend and support of the helpless and the destitute, (91) The Eighth Guru, Guru Har Kishen Ji The eighth Guru, Guru Har Kishen Ji, was the crown of the 'accepted' and the 'chaste' believers of Waaheguru and the honorific master of those who have merged into Him. His extraordinary miracle is world-famous and the radiance of his personality lights up the 'truth'. The special and near-ones are willing to sacrifice themselves for him and the chaste constantly bow at his door. His numerous followers and those who have an appreciation of real virtues are the elite of the three worlds and the six directions, and there are countless persons who pick up bits and scraps from the refectory and pool of Guru's qualities. The jewel-studded 'Hay' in his name is capable to defeat and bring down even the world-conquering and strong giants. The truth-telling 'Ray' deserves to be seated respectfully with the status of a president on the eternal throne. The Arabic 'Kaaf' in his name can open the doors of generosity and benevolence, and the glorious 'Sheen' with its pomp and show can tame and overpower even the tiger-like strong monsters. The last 'Noon' in his name brings and enhances freshness and aroma in life and is the closest friend of the God-given boons. (92) Waaheguru is the Truth Waaheguru is Omnipresent Guru Har Kishen is the embodiment of grace and beneficence, And is the most admired one out of all special and selected near-ones of Akaalpurakh. (94) Both the worlds become successful because of his mercy and grace, And, it is his kindness and clemency that brings out the strong and powerful shine of the sun in the smallest particle. (95) All are petitioners for his divinely sustaining boons, And, the entire world and the age are the followers of his command. (96) His protection is a God-given gift to all of his loyal followers, And, everyone, from the underworld to the skies, is subservient to his command. (97) The Nineth Guru,Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji The nineth Guru, Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, with a new agenda was the chief of the heads of protectors of the truth. He was the ornate of the honored and proud throne of the Lord of both the worlds. In spite of the fact that he was the master of divine power, he still would always acquiesce and bow before the will and command of Waaheguru and was the mysterious instrument for the godly glory and majestic grandeur. His personality was such that he had the capability of putting those who were his chaste and loyal followers to a severe test and to invigorate those devotees who follow an impartial methodology. The travelers on the grand divine path and the inhabitants of the next world were existent due to his personality that was totally dependent on truth and was a close companion of the highest spiritual power. He was the crown of the specialy selected devotees and the coronet of the proponents of God's adherents with truthful virtues. The blessed 'Tay' in his name was a believer in living under His will and command. The Farsi 'Yay' was the indicative of complete faith; the blessed Farsi 'Kaaf" ('Gaggaa') was representing his god-blessed personality as an embodiment of humility from head to his feet;

So that you could get the correct direction from His street to the path of Truth. (420)

Whosoever has not been able to eradicate his self ego,
The Akaalpurakh does not divulge His mysteries to him. (422)
Whatever is there, is inside the house, the human body,
You should walk around your heart's field of crops; the grain of enlightenment is there only inside it. (423)

Who am I? I am just one particle of one fistful of dust of top-layer,
All this blessing, due to my good fortune, was bestowed upon me by my true Guru. (429)
Great is the true Guru who has blessed me with Akaalpurakh's sacred Naam,
