salok mahalaa 3 |

Salok, Third Mehl:

ehaa sandhiaa paravaan hai jit har prabh meraa chit aavai |

That evening prayer alone is acceptable, which brings the Lord God to my consciousness.

har siau preet aoopajai maaeaa mohu jalaavai |

Love for the Lord wells up within me, and my attachment to Maya is burnt away.

guraparasaadee dubidhaa marai manooaa asathir sandhiaa kare veechaar |

By Guru's Grace, duality is conquered, and the mind becomes stable; I have made contemplative meditation my evening prayer.

naanak sandhiaa karai manamukhee jeeo na ttikai mar jamai hoe khuaar |1|

O Nanak, the self-willed manmukh may recite his evening prayers, but his mind is not centered on it; through birth and death, he is ruined. ||1||

Raag Bihaagraa

The mood of Bihagara is that of extreme sadness and pain, which gives rise to the need to find peace and understanding. The heightened emotional state of sadness is only harnessed by the craving for truth and meaning.
