Third Mehl:

ਜਿਨੑੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਾਣੁ ਨਿਤਾਣੇ ਤਿਸੁ ॥
jinaee satigur seviaa taan nitaane tis |

Those who serve the True Guru, are transformed from powerless into powerful.

ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਤਿਸੁ ॥
saas giraas sadaa man vasai jam johi na sakai tis |

With every breath and morsel of food, the Lord abides in their minds forever, and the Messenger of Death cannot even see them.

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਕਵਲਾ ਸੇਵਕਿ ਤਿਸੁ ॥
hiradai har har naam ras kavalaa sevak tis |

The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, fills their hearts, and Maya is their servant.

ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਪਰਮ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਤਿਸੁ ॥
har daasaa kaa daas hoe param padaarath tis |

One who becomes the slave of the Lord's slaves, obtains the greatest treasure.

ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵਸੈ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੈ ਤਿਸੁ ॥
naanak man tan jis prabh vasai hau sad kurabaanai tis |

O Nanak, I am forever a sacrifice to that one, within whose mind and body God dwells.

ਜਿਨੑ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਰਸੁ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸਿਉ ਤਿਸੁ ॥੨॥
jina kau poorab likhiaa ras sant janaa siau tis |2|

One who has such pre-ordained destiny, he alone is in love with the humble Saints. ||2||

Raag Bilaaval

Bilaval conveys the emotions of great happiness that come from having attained a goal or achieved an aim. It is an overwhelming feeling of fulfilment, satisfaction and joy, that is experienced when the accomplishments is very important and dear to you. The happiness felt is like laughing out loud, there is no planning or any ulterior motive; it’s just a natural expression of heartfelt happiness arising from a sense of achievement.
