ਲਖ ਨਗਾਰੇ ਵਜਨ ਆਮ੍ਹੋ ਸਾਮ੍ਹਣੇ ॥
lakh nagaare vajan aamho saamhane |

A hundred thousand trumpets resound facing one another.

ਰਾਕਸ ਰਣੋ ਨ ਭਜਨ ਰੋਹੇ ਰੋਹਲੇ ॥
raakas rano na bhajan rohe rohale |

The highly infuriated demons do not flee from the battlefield.

ਸੀਹਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂ ਗਜਣ ਸਭੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ॥
seehaan vaangoo gajan sabhe soorame |

All the warriors roar like lions.

ਤਣਿ ਤਣਿ ਕੈਬਰ ਛਡਨ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਾਮਣੇ ॥੧੨॥
tan tan kaibar chhaddan duragaa saamane |12|

They stretch their bows and shoot the arrows in front it Durga.12.

The dual chained trumpets sounded in the battlefield.

ਧੂੜਿ ਲਪੇਟੇ ਧੂਹਰੇ ਸਿਰਦਾਰ ਜਟਾਲੇ ॥
dhoorr lapette dhoohare siradaar jattaale |

The demon chieftains having matted locks are enveloped in dust.

ਉਖਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਸਾ ਜਿਨਾ ਮੁਹਿ ਜਾਪਨ ਆਲੇ ॥
aukhaleean naasaa jinaa muhi jaapan aale |

Their nostrils are like mortars and the mouths seem like niches.

ਧਾਏ ਦੇਵੀ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਬੀਰ ਮੁਛਲੀਆਲੇ ॥
dhaae devee saahamane beer muchhaleeaale |

The brave fighters bearing long moustaches ran in front of the goddess.

ਸੁਰਪਤ ਜੇਹੇ ਲੜ ਹਟੇ ਬੀਰ ਟਲੇ ਨ ਟਾਲੇ ॥
surapat jehe larr hatte beer ttale na ttaale |

The warriors like the king of gods (Indra) had become tired of fighting, but the brave fighters could not be averted from their stand.

ਗਜੇ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਘੇਰਿ ਕੈ ਜਣੁ ਘਣੀਅਰ ਕਾਲੇ ॥੧੩॥

They roared. On besieging Durga, like dark clouds.13.

ਚੋਟ ਪਈ ਖਰਚਾਮੀ ਦਲਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ॥
chott pee kharachaamee dalaan mukaabalaa |

The drum, wrapped in donkey’s hide, was beaten and the armies attacked each other.

ਘੇਰ ਲਈ ਵਰਿਆਮੀ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਆਇ ਕੈ ॥
gher lee variaamee duragaa aae kai |

The brave demon-warriors besieged Durga.

ਰਾਕਸ ਵਡੇ ਅਲਾਮੀ ਭਜ ਨ ਜਾਣਦੇ ॥
raakas vadde alaamee bhaj na jaanade |

They are greatly knowledgeable in warfare and do not know running back.

ਅੰਤ ਹੋਏ ਸੁਰਗਾਮੀ ਮਾਰੇ ਦੇਵਤਾ ॥੧੪॥
ant hoe suragaamee maare devataa |14|

They ultimately went to heaven on being killed by the goddess.14.
