ਜੇਤੇ ਰਾਇ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਚਲੇ ਜੁਧ ਨੋ ॥
jete raae bulaae chale judh no |

All those who were called, marched for war.

ਜਣ ਜਮ ਪੁਰ ਪਕੜ ਚਲਾਏ ਸਭੇ ਮਾਰਣੇ ॥੩੦॥
jan jam pur pakarr chalaae sabhe maarane |30|

ਢੋਲ ਨਗਾਰੇ ਵਾਏ ਦਲਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ॥
dtol nagaare vaae dalaan mukaabalaa |

The drums and trumpets were sounded and the armies attacked each other.

ਰੋਹ ਰੁਹੇਲੇ ਆਏ ਉਤੇ ਰਾਕਸਾਂ ॥
roh ruhele aae ute raakasaan |

The enraged warriors marched against the demons.

ਸਭਨੀ ਤੁਰੇ ਨਚਾਏ ਬਰਛੇ ਪਕੜਿ ਕੈ ॥
sabhanee ture nachaae barachhe pakarr kai |

All of them holding their daggers, caused their horses to dance.

ਬਹੁਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਗਿਰਾਏ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੇਤ ਦੈ ॥
bahute maar giraae andar khet dai |

Many were killed and thrown in the battlefield.

ਤੀਰੀ ਛਹਬਰ ਲਾਈ ਬੁਠੀ ਦੇਵਤਾ ॥੩੧॥
teeree chhahabar laaee butthee devataa |31|

The arrows shot by the goddess came in showers.31.

ਭੇਰੀ ਸੰਖ ਵਜਾਏ ਸੰਘਰਿ ਰਚਿਆ ॥
bheree sankh vajaae sanghar rachiaa |

The drums and conches were sounded and the war began.

ਤਣਿ ਤਣਿ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਏ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਧਨਖ ਲੈ ॥
tan tan teer chalaae duragaa dhanakh lai |

Durga, taking her bow, stretched it again and again for shooting arrows.

ਜਿਨੀ ਦਸਤ ਉਠਾਏ ਰਹੇ ਨ ਜੀਵਦੇ ॥
jinee dasat utthaae rahe na jeevade |

Those who raised their hands against the goddess, did not survive.

ਚੰਡ ਅਰ ਮੁੰਡ ਖਪਾਏ ਦੋਨੋ ਦੇਵਤਾ ॥੩੨॥
chandd ar mundd khapaae dono devataa |32|

She destroyed both Chand and Mund.32.

ਸੁੰਭ ਨਿਸੁੰਭ ਰਿਸਾਏ ਮਾਰੇ ਦੈਤ ਸੁਣ ॥
sunbh nisunbh risaae maare dait sun |

Sumbh and Nisumbh were highly enraged on hearing this killing.

ਜੋਧੇ ਸਭ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਜਲਸੀ ॥
jodhe sabh bulaae aapanee majalasee |

They called all the brave fighters, who were their advisers.

ਜਿਨੀ ਦੇਉ ਭਜਾਏ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਜੇਵਹੇ ॥
jinee deo bhajaae indr jevahe |

Those who had caused the gods like Indra run away.

ਤੇਈ ਮਾਰ ਗਿਰਾਏ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਦੇਵਤਾ ॥
teee maar giraae pal vich devataa |

The goddess killed them in an instant.

ਓਨੀ ਦਸਤੀ ਦਸਤ ਵਜਾਏ ਤਿਨਾ ਚਿਤ ਕਰਿ ॥
onee dasatee dasat vajaae tinaa chit kar |

Keeping Chand Mund in their mind, they rubbed their hands in sorrow.

ਫਿਰ ਸ੍ਰਣਵਤ ਬੀਜ ਚਲਾਏ ਬੀੜੇ ਰਾਇ ਦੇ ॥
fir sranavat beej chalaae beerre raae de |

Then Sranwat Beej was prepared and sent by the king.

ਸੰਜ ਪਟੋਲਾ ਪਾਏ ਚਿਲਕਤ ਟੋਪੀਆਂ ॥
sanj pattolaa paae chilakat ttopeean |

He wore the armour with belts and the helmet which glistened.
