ਕਈ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਨ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਰੀਤ ॥

There are many song-tunes and observances of Gandharvas!

ਕਈ ਬੇਦ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ॥

kee bed saasatr bidiaa prateet |

There are many who are absorbed in the learning of Vedas and Shastras!

ਕਹੂੰ ਬੇਦ ਰੀਤਿ ਜਗ ਆਦਿ ਕਰਮ ॥

kahoon bed reet jag aad karam |

Somewhere Yagyas (sacrifices) are performed according to the Vedic injunctions!

ਕਹੂੰ ਅਗਨ ਹੋਤ੍ਰ ਕਹੂੰ ਤੀਰਥ ਧਰਮ ॥੧੨॥੧੩੨॥

Somewhere havens are performed and somewhere at pilgrim-stations the befitting rituals are being followed! 12. 132

ਕਈ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਭਾਖਾ ਰਟੰਤ ॥

Many speak languages of different countries!

ਕਈ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਪੜ੍ਹੰਤ ॥

Many study the learning of various countries! Many study the learning of various countries

ਕਈ ਕਰਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤਨ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥

kee karat bhaant bhaantan bichaar |

Many ruminate over several types of philosophies!

ਨਹੀ ਨੈਕੁ ਤਾਸੁ ਪਾਯਤ ਨ ਪਾਰ ॥੧੩॥੧੩੩॥

nahee naik taas paayat na paar |13|133|

Still they cannot comprehend even a little of the Lord! 13. 133

ਕਈ ਤੀਰਥ ਤੀਰਥ ਭਰਮਤ ਸੁ ਭਰਮ ॥

kee teerath teerath bharamat su bharam |

Many wander away on various pilgrim-stations in delusion!

ਕਈ ਅਗਨ ਹੋਤ੍ਰ ਕਈ ਦੇਵ ਕਰਮ ॥

kee agan hotr kee dev karam |

Some perform havens and some perform rituals to please gods!

ਕਈ ਕਰਤ ਬੀਰ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥

kee karat beer bidiaa bichaar |

Some pay consideration to the learning of warfare!

ਨਹੀਂ ਤਦਪ ਤਾਸ ਪਾਯਤ ਨ ਪਾਰ ॥੧੪॥੧੩੪॥

naheen tadap taas paayat na paar |14|134|

Still they cannot comprehend of the Lord! 14. 134

ਕਹੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਰੀਤ ਕਹੂੰ ਜੋਗ ਧਰਮ ॥

kahoon raaj reet kahoon jog dharam |

Somewhere royal discipline is being followed and somewhere the discipline of Yoga!

ਕਈ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਉਚਰਤ ਸੁ ਕਰਮ ॥

kee sinmrit saasatr ucharat su karam |

Many perform the recitation of Smritis and Shastras!

ਨਿਉਲੀ ਆਦਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਹੂੰ ਹਸਤ ਦਾਨ ॥

niaulee aad karam kahoon hasat daan |

Somewhere Yogic Karmas including neoli (purgation of intestines) are being practiced and somewhere elephants are being given as gifts!

ਕਹੂੰ ਅਸ੍ਵਮੇਧ ਮਖ ਕੋ ਬਖਾਨ ॥੧੫॥੧੩੫॥

Somewhere the horse sacrifices are being performed and their merits are being related! 15. 135

ਕਹੂੰ ਕਰਤ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥

Somewhere the Brahmins are holding discussions about Theology!

ਕਹੂੰ ਜੋਗ ਰੀਤ ਕਹੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਚਾਰ ॥

kahoon jog reet kahoon bridh chaar |

Somewhere the Yogic methods are being practiced and somewhere the four stages of life are being followed!

ਕਹੂੰ ਕਰਤ ਜਛ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਗਾਨ ॥

kahoon karat jachh gandhrab gaan |

Somewhere the Yaksha and Gandharvas sing!

ਕਹੂੰ ਧੂਪ ਦੀਪ ਕਹੂੰ ਅਰਘ ਦਾਨ ॥੧੬॥੧੩੬॥

Somewhere the offerings of incense earthen lamps and libations are made! 16. 136
