ਕਹੂੰ ਬੇਦ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਕਹੂੰ ਕਾਬ ਰੂਪੰ ॥

kahoon bed bidiaa kahoon kaab roopan |

Somewhere Thou art the learning of the Vedas and somewhere Thou art literature!

ਕਹੂੰ ਚੇਸਟਾ ਚਾਰਿ ਚਿਤ੍ਰੰ ਸਰੂਪੰ ॥

kahoon chesattaa chaar chitran saroopan |

Somewhere Thou makest superb effort and somewhere Thou lookest like a picture!

ਕਹੂੰ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਕੋ ਪਾਰ ਪਾਵੈ ॥

kahoon param puraan ko paar paavai |

Somewhere Thou comprehendest the tenets of holy Puranas!

ਕਹੂੰ ਬੈਠ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਕੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੨੩॥੧੧੩॥

kahoon baitth kuraan ke geet gaavai |23|113|

And somewhere Thou singest the songs of sacred Quran! ! 23. 113

ਕਹੂੰ ਸੁਧ ਸੇਖੰ ਕਹੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਧਰਮੰ ॥

kahoon sudh sekhan kahoon braham dharaman |

Somewhere Thou art a True Muslim and somewhere the adherent of the religion of Brahmins!

ਕਹੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਕਹੂੰ ਬਾਲ ਕਰਮੰ ॥

kahoon bridh avasathaa kahoon baal karaman |

Somewhere Thou art in old age and somewhere actest as a child!

ਕਹੂੰ ਜੁਆ ਸਰੂਪੰ ਜਰਾ ਰਹਤ ਦੇਹੰ ॥

kahoon juaa saroopan jaraa rahat dehan |

Somewhere Thou art a youth sans an old body!

ਕਹੂੰ ਨੇਹ ਦੇਹੰ ਕਹੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਗ੍ਰੇਹੰ ॥੨੪॥੧੧੪॥

Somewhere Thou lovest the body and somewhere Thou forsakest Thy home! 24. 114

ਕਹੂੰ ਜੋਗ ਭੋਗੰ ਕਹੂੰ ਰੋਗ ਰਾਗੰ ॥

kahoon jog bhogan kahoon rog raagan |

Somewhere Thou art engrossed in Yoga and enjoyment and somewhere Thou art experiencing ailment and attachment!

ਕਹੂੰ ਰੋਗ ਰਹਿਤਾ ਕਹੂੰ ਭੋਗ ਤਿਆਗੰ ॥

kahoon rog rahitaa kahoon bhog tiaagan |

Somewhere Thou art the Remover of ailment and somewhere Thou Forsakest enjoyment!

ਕਹੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਸਾਜੰ ਕਹੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਰੀਤੰ ॥

kahoon raaj saajan kahoon raaj reetan |

Somewhere Thou art in pomp of royalty and somewhere Thou art without kingship!

ਕਹੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਿਆ ਕਹੂੰ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰੀਤੰ ॥੨੫॥੧੧੫॥

kahoon pooran pragiaa kahoon param preetan |25|115|

Somewhere Thou art perfect intellectual and somewhere Thou art embodiment of Supreme Love! 25. 115

ਕਹੂੰ ਆਰਬੀ ਤੋਰਕੀ ਪਾਰਸੀ ਹੋ ॥

kahoon aarabee torakee paarasee ho |

Somewhere thou art Arabic, Somewhere Turkish, Somewhere Persian!

ਕਹੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਵੀ ਪਸਤਵੀ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਹੋ ॥

kahoon pahilavee pasatavee sansakritee ho |

Somewhere Thou art Pathlavi, somewhere Pushto, somewhere Sankrit!

ਕਹੂੰ ਦੇਸ ਭਾਖ੍ਯਾ ਕਹੂੰ ਦੇਵ ਬਾਨੀ ॥

kahoon des bhaakhayaa kahoon dev baanee |

Somewhere Thou art Arabic, somewhere Turkish, somewhere Persian

ਕਹੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਕਹੂੰ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ॥੨੬॥੧੧੬॥

kahoon raaj bidiaa kahoon raajadhaanee |26|116|

Somewhere Thou art the State-learning and somewhere Thou art the State Capital!! 26. 116

ਕਹੂੰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਕਹੂੰ ਤੰਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਰੰ ॥

kahoon mantr bidiaa kahoon tantr saaran |

Somewhere Thou art the instruction of mantras (spells) and somewhere Thou art the essence of Tantras!
