One Oankar, the primal energy, realized through the grace of divine preceptor

ਇਕ ਕਵਾਉ ਪਸਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਓਅੰਕਾਰ ਅਨੇਕ ਅਕਾਰਾ ।
eik kavaau pasaau kar oankaar anek akaaraa |

By one bang, the Oankar created and spread myriad of forms.

ਪਉਣੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੋ ਧਰਤਿ ਅਗਾਸਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਵਿਥਾਰਾ ।
paun paanee baisantaro dharat agaas nivaas vithaaraa |

He extended His self in the form of air, water, fire, earth and sky etc.

ਜਲ ਥਲ ਤਰਵਰ ਪਰਬਤਾਂ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਅਗਣਤ ਅਪਾਰਾ ।
jal thal taravar parabataan jeea jant aganat apaaraa |

He created water, land, trees, mountains and many biotic communities.

ਇਕੁ ਵਰਭੰਡੁ ਅਖੰਡੁ ਹੈ ਲਖ ਵਰਭੰਡ ਪਲਕ ਪਲਕਾਰਾ ।
eik varabhandd akhandd hai lakh varabhandd palak palakaaraa |

That supreme creator Himself is indivisible and in one wink of an eye can create millions of universes.

ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੀਮ ਨ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਕੇਵਡੁ ਕਾਦਰੁ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾ ।
kudarat keem na jaaneeai kevadd kaadar sirajanahaaraa |

When boundaries of His creation are unknowable, how can the expanse of that Creator be known?

ਅੰਤੁ ਬਿਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰਾ ।੧।
ant biant na paaraavaaraa |1|

No end is there of His extremes; they are infinite.

ਪਉੜੀ ੨

ਕੇਵਡੁ ਵਡਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਵਡੇ ਦੀ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ।
kevadd vaddaa aakheeai vadde dee vaddee vaddiaaee |

How vast could He be said? The grandeur of the Great is great.

ਵਡੀ ਹੂੰ ਵਡਾ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਆਖਣੁ ਆਖ ਸੁਣਾਈ ।
vaddee hoon vaddaa vakhaaneeai sun sun aakhan aakh sunaaee |

I relate what I have heard that He is said to be the greatest of the great.

ਰੋਮ ਰੋਮ ਵਿਚਿ ਰਖਿਓਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਵਰਭੰਡ ਕਰੋੜਿ ਸਮਾਈ ।
rom rom vich rakhion kar varabhandd karorr samaaee |

Crores of universes reside in His trichome.

ਇਕੁ ਕਵਾਉ ਪਸਾਉ ਜਿਸੁ ਤੋਲਿ ਅਤੋਲੁ ਨ ਤੁਲਿ ਤੁਲਾਈ ।
eik kavaau pasaau jis tol atol na tul tulaaee |

None could be compared with Him Who created and spread everything with one bang.

ਵੇਦ ਕਤੇਬਹੁ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਕਥੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ।
ved katebahu baaharaa akath kahaanee kathee na jaaee |

He is beyond all the statements of the Vedas and the Katebas. His ineffable story is beyond all descriptions.

ਅਬਿਗਤਿ ਗਤਿ ਕਿਵ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਈ ।੨।
abigat gat kiv alakh lakhaaee |2|

How could His unmanifest dynamism by seen and understood?

ਜੀਉ ਪਾਇ ਤਨੁ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਅਖੀ ਨਕੁ ਕੰਨ ਸਵਾਰੇ ।
jeeo paae tan saajiaa muhu akhee nak kan savaare |

Creating the jiva (self) He made his body and gave good shape to his mouth, nose, eyes and ears.

ਹਥ ਪੈਰ ਦੇ ਦਾਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸੁਭ ਦਿਸਟਿ ਦੁਆਰੇ ।
hath pair de daat kar sabad surat subh disatt duaare |

Gracefully He bestowed hands and feet, ears and consciousness for listening to the Word and eye for beholding goodness.

ਕਿਰਤਿ ਵਿਰਤਿ ਪਰਕਿਰਤਿ ਬਹੁ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਸੰਜਾਰੇ ।
kirat virat parakirat bahu saas giraas nivaas sanjaare |

For earning of the livelihood and other works, he infused life into body.

ਰਾਗ ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਪਰਸਦੇ ਗੰਧ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਸੰਧਿ ਪਰਕਾਰੇ ।
raag rang ras parasade gandh sugandh sandh parakaare |

He bestowed various techniques of assimilation of music, colours, smells and fragrances.

ਛਾਦਨ ਭੋਜਨ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਲੁ ਟੇਕ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ ।
chhaadan bhojan budh bal ttek bibek veechaar veechaare |

For clothing and eating He gave wisdom, power, devotion, and discriminatory wisdom and thought process.

ਦਾਨੇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ ਬੇਸੁਮਾਰ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ।
daane keemat naa pavai besumaar daataar piaare |

The mysteries of that Bestower cannot be understood; that loving Donor keeps with Him myriad's of virtues.

ਲੇਖ ਅਲੇਖ ਅਸੰਖ ਅਪਾਰੇ ।੩।
lekh alekh asankh apaare |3|

Beyond all accounts, He is infinite and unfathomable.

ਪੰਜਿ ਤਤੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਕਰਿ ਖਾਣੀ ਚਾਰਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ।
panj tat paravaan kar khaanee chaar jagat upaaeaa |

Mixing the five elements from four (life) mines (egg, foetus, sweat, vegetation) the whole world was created.

ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੂਨਿ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਵਾਗਵਣ ਚਲਤੁ ਵਰਤਾਇਆ ।
lakh chauraaseeh joon vich aavaagavan chalat varataaeaa |

Creating the eighty-four lakhs speicies of life, the feat of transmigration has been accomplished in them.

ਇਕਸ ਇਕਸ ਜੂਨਿ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਅਣਗਣਤ ਵਧਾਇਆ ।
eikas ikas joon vich jeea jant anaganat vadhaaeaa |

In each one of the species many a creature has been produced.

ਲੇਖੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਸਭਨਾ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਲਿਖਾਇਆ ।
lekhai andar sabh ko sabhanaa masatak lekh likhaaeaa |

All are responsible (for their actions) and carry writ of fate on their forehead.

ਲੇਖੈ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸ ਦੇ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ।
lekhai saas giraas de lekh likhaaree ant na paaeaa |

Every breath and morsel is counted. Mystery of writs and that Writer could not be known by any one.

ਆਪਿ ਅਲੇਖੁ ਨ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ।੪।
aap alekh na alakh lakhaaeaa |4|

Himself imperceptible, He is beyond all writs.

ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਧਰਤਿ ਅਗਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਾਧਾਰ ਭੈ ਭਾਰਿ ਧਰਾਇਆ ।
bhai vich dharat agaas hai niraadhaar bhai bhaar dharaaeaa |

Earth and sky are in fear but not held by any support, and, that Lord sustains them under the weight of fears.

ਪਉਣੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੋ ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਰਖੈ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ।
paun paanee baisantaro bhai vich rakhai mel milaaeaa |

Keeping air, water and fire in fear (discipline). He has mixed them all (and has created the world).

ਪਾਣੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਧਰਤਿ ਧਰਿ ਵਿਣੁ ਥੰਮ੍ਹਾ ਆਗਾਸੁ ਰਹਾਇਆ ।
paanee andar dharat dhar vin thamhaa aagaas rahaaeaa |

Setting earth in water He has established sky without the support of any props.

ਕਾਠੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਧਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਰਫੁਲਿਤ ਸੁਫਲੁ ਫਲਾਇਆ ।
kaatthai andar agan dhar kar parafulit sufal falaaeaa |

He kept fire in wood and loading the trees with flowers and fruits made them meaningful.

ਨਵੀ ਦੁਆਰੀ ਪਵਣੁ ਧਰਿ ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਚੰਦ ਚਲਾਇਆ ।
navee duaaree pavan dhar bhai vich sooraj chand chalaaeaa |

Keeping air (life) in all the nine doors He made the sun and the moon to move in fear (discipline).

ਨਿਰਭਉ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਰਾਇਆ ।੫।
nirbhau aap niranjan raaeaa |5|

That spotless Lord Himself is beyond all fears.

ਪਉੜੀ ੬

ਲਖ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਉਚਾਣਿ ਚੜਿ ਉਚਾ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਅੰਬੜਿ ਸਕੈ ।
lakh asamaan uchaan charr uchaa hoe na anbarr sakai |

Even mounting the lakhs of sky none can reach that highest Lord.

ਉਚੀ ਹੂੰ ਊਚਾ ਘਣਾ ਥਾਉ ਗਿਰਾਉ ਨ ਨਾਉ ਅਥਕੈ ।
auchee hoon aoochaa ghanaa thaau giraau na naau athakai |

He is higher than the highest; He has no (particular) place, residence, name and any fatigue.

ਲਖ ਪਤਾਲ ਨੀਵਾਣਿ ਜਾਇ ਨੀਵਾ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਨੀਵੈ ਤਕੈ ।
lakh pataal neevaan jaae neevaa hoe na neevai takai |

If someone goes low equal to millions of netherworlds even then he cannot behold Him.

ਪੂਰਬਿ ਪਛਮਿ ਉਤਰਾਧਿ ਦਖਣਿ ਫੇਰਿ ਚਉਫੇਰਿ ਨ ਢਕੈ ।
poorab pachham utaraadh dakhan fer chaufer na dtakai |

Even the covers of all the four directions - north, east, south, west, cannot over Him.

ਓੜਕ ਮੂਲੁ ਨ ਲਭਈ ਓਪਤਿ ਪਰਲਉ ਅਖਿ ਫਰਕੈ ।
orrak mool na labhee opat parlau akh farakai |

His expanse cannot be attained; He by one wink of His eye can create and dissolute (the whole cosmos).

ਫੁਲਾਂ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵਾਸੁ ਮਹਕੈ ।੬।
fulaan andar vaas mahakai |6|

As the fragrance adorns the flower, the Lord also is present everywhere.

ਪਉੜੀ ੭

ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਅਕਾਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਥਿਤਿ ਵਾਰੁ ਨ ਮਾਹੁ ਜਣਾਇਆ ।
oankaar akaar kar thit vaar na maahu janaaeaa |

About the day and month of the creation, the Creator has told nothing to anybody.

ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਆਕਾਰੁ ਵਿਣੁ ਏਕੰਕਾਰ ਨ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ।
nirankaar aakaar vin ekankaar na alakh lakhaaeaa |

The Formless One who resided in His own self did not make anybody see His imperceptible form.

ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਆਪੇ ਅਪਣਾ ਨਾਉ ਧਰਾਇਆ ।
aape aap upaae kai aape apanaa naau dharaaeaa |

Himself He created all and Himself He (for the weal of creatures) established His name in their hearts.

ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਆਦੇਸੁ ਹੈ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਹੋਸੀ ਹੋਂਦਾ ਆਇਆ ।
aad purakh aades hai hai bhee hosee hondaa aaeaa |

I bow before that primal Lord, who is there in the present, who will remain in the future and who was in the beginning as well.

ਆਦਿ ਨ ਅੰਤੁ ਬਿਅੰਤੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਨ ਆਪੁ ਗਣਾਇਆ ।
aad na ant biant hai aape aap na aap ganaaeaa |

He is beyond beginning, beyond end and is infinite; but He never makes Himself noticed.

ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਸਮਾਇਆ ।੭।
aape aap upaae samaaeaa |7|

He created the world and Himself subsumes it in His self.

ਪਉੜੀ ੮
paurree 8

ਰੋਮ ਰੋਮ ਵਿਚਿ ਰਖਿਓਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਵਰਭੰਡ ਕਰੋੜਿ ਸਮਾਈ ।
rom rom vich rakhion kar varabhandd karorr samaaee |

In His one trichome He has subsumed crores of universes.

ਕੇਵਡੁ ਵਡਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਕਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਕੇਵਡੁ ਜਾਈ ।
kevadd vaddaa aakheeai kit ghar vasai kevadd jaaee |

What can be said about His expanse, His abode and the extent of His place?

ਇਕੁ ਕਵਾਉ ਅਮਾਉ ਹੈ ਲਖ ਦਰੀਆਉ ਨ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ।
eik kavaau amaau hai lakh dareeaau na keemat paaee |

Even His one sentence is beyond all limits and its evaluation cannot be done by millions of rivers of knowledge.

ਪਰਵਦਗਾਰੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ਨ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਈ ।
paravadagaar apaar hai paaraavaar na alakh lakhaaee |

That sustainer of the world is inaccessible; his beginning and end is imperceptible.

ਏਵਡੁ ਵਡਾ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਕਿਥੈ ਰਹਿਆ ਆਪੁ ਲੁਕਾਈ ।
evadd vaddaa hoe kai kithai rahiaa aap lukaaee |

Being so much great where has He hidden Himself?

ਸੁਰ ਨਰ ਨਾਥ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ।੮।
sur nar naath rahe liv laaee |8|

To know this, the gods, men and many a nath are ever in concentration upon Him.

ਪਉੜੀ ੯

ਲਖ ਦਰੀਆਉ ਕਵਾਉ ਵਿਚਿ ਅਤਿ ਅਸਗਾਹ ਅਥਾਹ ਵਹੰਦੇ ।
lakh dareeaau kavaau vich at asagaah athaah vahande |

In His will lakhs of deep and unfathomable rivers (of life) go on flowing.

ਆਦਿ ਨ ਅੰਤੁ ਬਿਅੰਤੁ ਹੈ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਫੇਰ ਫਿਰੰਦੇ ।
aad na ant biant hai agam agochar fer firande |

Beginning and end of those life currents cannot be understood.

ਅਲਖੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਰ ਲਹੰਦੇ ।
alakh apaar vakhaaneeai paaraavaar na paar lahande |

They are infinite, inaccessible and imperceptible but still all move in the Lord, the great. They cannot know the extent of that imperceptible and boundless Lord.

ਲਹਰਿ ਤਰੰਗ ਨਿਸੰਗ ਲਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਗਮ ਰੰਗ ਰਵੰਦੇ ।
lahar tarang nisang lakh saagar sangam rang ravande |

Rivers having myriad's of waves meeting the ocean becomes one with it.

ਰਤਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਲਖ ਲਖ ਮੁਲਿ ਅਮੁਲਿ ਨ ਤੁਲਿ ਤੁਲੰਦੇ ।
ratan padaarath lakh lakh mul amul na tul tulande |

In that ocean are lakhs of invaluable jewel materials, which in fact are beyond all costing.

ਸਦਕੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਿ ਸਿਰੰਦੇ ।੯।
sadake sirajanahaar sirande |9|

I am sacrifice unto that Creator Lord.

ਪਉੜੀ ੧੦

ਪਰਵਦਗਾਰੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਸਿਰਠਿ ਉਪਾਈ ਰੰਗ ਬਿਰੰਗੀ ।
paravadagaar salaaheeai siratth upaaee rang birangee |

That sustainer Lord ought to be praised who has created the multicoloured creation.

ਰਾਜਿਕੁ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸਬਾਹਿਦਾ ਸਭਨਾ ਦਾਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਅਣਮੰਗੀ ।
raajik rijak sabaahidaa sabhanaa daat kare anamangee |

He is bestower of livelihood to everyone and giver of charity unasked for.

ਕਿਸੈ ਜਿਵੇਹਾ ਨਾਹਿ ਕੋ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਮੰਦੀ ਚੰਗੀ ।
kisai jivehaa naeh ko dubidhaa andar mandee changee |

None resembles anyone and the jiva (creative) is good or bad according to the ratio of perplexity in him.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਿਰਲੇਪੁ ਹੈ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਲੰਗੀ ।
paarabraham niralep hai pooran braham sadaa sahalangee |

Being transcendent, He is detached from every thing and being perfect Brahm. He is always with everybody.

ਵਰਨਾਂ ਚਿਹਨਾਂ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਸਭਨਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਹੈ ਸਰਬੰਗੀ ।
varanaan chihanaan baaharaa sabhanaa andar hai sarabangee |

He is beyond caste and symbols etc. but side by side He pervades one and all.

ਪਉਣੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਸੰਗੀ ।੧੦।
paun paanee baisantar sangee |10|

He is in air, water and fire i.e. He is the power of these elements.

ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਆਕਾਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਖੀ ਇਕ ਉਪਾਈ ਮਾਇਆ ।
oankaar aakaar kar makhee ik upaaee maaeaa |

The Oankar creating the forms created a fly named maya.

ਤਿਨਿ ਲੋਅ ਚਉਦਹ ਭਵਣੁ ਜਲ ਥਲੁ ਮਹੀਅਲੁ ਛਲੁ ਕਰਿ ਛਾਇਆ ।
tin loa chaudah bhavan jal thal maheeal chhal kar chhaaeaa |

It cheated profusely all the three worlds, fourteen abodes, water, surface and the nether world.

ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨ ਮਹੇਸੁ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਦਸ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਬਜਾਰਿ ਨਚਾਇਆ ।
brahamaa bisan mahes trai das avataar bajaar nachaaeaa |

All the ten incarnations, besides Brahma, Visnu, Mahesa, it made to dance in the bazar in the form of world.

ਜਤੀ ਸਤੀ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਆ ਸਿਧ ਨਾਥ ਬਹੁ ਪੰਥ ਭਵਾਇਆ ।
jatee satee santokheea sidh naath bahu panth bhavaaeaa |

The celibates, the chaste ones, the contented people, siddhas and naths all were made to move astray on the paths of various sects.

ਕਾਮ ਕਰੋਧ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਵਿਚਿ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਧ੍ਰੋਹੁ ਲੜਾਇਆ ।
kaam karodh virodh vich lobh mohu kar dhrohu larraaeaa |

Maya infused lust, anger, opposition, greed, infatuation, and deceit in all and made them to have infightings.

ਹਉਮੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਸੇਰਹੁ ਘਟਿ ਨ ਕਿਨੈ ਅਖਾਇਆ ।
haumai andar sabh ko serahu ghatt na kinai akhaaeaa |

Full of ego they are hollow from inside but none accepts himself imperfect (all feel they are the full measure and nothing less than it).

ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਆਪੁ ਲੁਕਾਇਆ ।੧੧।
kaaran karate aap lukaaeaa |11|

The Creator Lord Himself has concealed the reason for all this.

ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹਾਂ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ਹੈ ਅਬਚਲੁ ਰਾਜੁ ਵਡੀ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀ ।
paatisaahaan paatisaahu hai abachal raaj vaddee paatisaahee |

He (the Lord) is emperor of emperors whose rule is stable and kingdom greatly large.

ਕੇਵਡੁ ਤਖਤੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਕੇਵਡੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਕੇਵਡੁ ਦਰਗਾਹੀ ।
kevadd takhat vakhaaneeai kevadd mahal kevadd daragaahee |

How big are His throne, palace and the court.

ਕੇਵਡੁ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਕੇਵਡੁ ਮਾਲੁ ਮੁਲਖੁ ਅਵਗਾਹੀ ।
kevadd sifat salaaheeai kevadd maal mulakh avagaahee |

How should He be eulogised and how could be known the expanse of His treasure and territory?

ਕੇਵਡੁ ਮਾਣੁ ਮਹਤੁ ਹੈ ਕੇਵਡੁ ਲਸਕਰ ਸੇਵ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ।
kevadd maan mahat hai kevadd lasakar sev sipaahee |

How great is His grandeur and magnificence and how many soldiers and armies are there in His service?

ਹੁਕਮੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਕੇਵਡੁ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਬੇਪਰਵਾਹੀ ।
hukamai andar sabh ko kevadd hukam na beparavaahee |

Everything is under His order is so much organised and powerful that no carelessness is there.

lakh lakh brahame ved parrh ikas akhar bhed na jaataa |

Even after reading lakhs of Vedas, Brahma did not understand syllable (paramatama)

ਜੋਗ ਧਿਆਨ ਮਹੇਸ ਲਖ ਰੂਪ ਨ ਰੇਖ ਨ ਭੇਖੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ।
jog dhiaan mahes lakh roop na rekh na bhekh pachhaataa |

Siva meditates through lakhs of methods (postures) but still could not recognise the form, hue and guise (of the Lord).

ਲਖ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਅਕਾਰ ਕਰਿ ਤਿਲੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ਨ ਬਿਸਨ ਪਛਾਤਾ ।
lakh avataar akaar kar til veechaar na bisan pachhaataa |

Visnu incarnated himself through lakhs of creatures but he could not recognise even a bit of that Lord.

ਲਖ ਲਖ ਨਉਤਨ ਨਾਉ ਲੈ ਲਖ ਲਖ ਸੇਖ ਵਿਸੇਖ ਨ ਤਾਤਾ ।
lakh lakh nautan naau lai lakh lakh sekh visekh na taataa |

Sesanag (the mythical snake) recited and remembered many a new name of the Lord but still could not know much about Him.

ਚਿਰੁ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਬਹੁ ਹੰਢਣੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਪੰਥ ਨ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਿਞਾਤਾ ।
chir jeevan bahu handtane darasan panth na sabad siyaataa |

Many long-lived persons experienced life variously, but they all and many a philosopher could not understand Sabda, the Brahma.

ਦਾਤਿ ਲੁਭਾਇ ਵਿਸਾਰਨਿ ਦਾਤਾ ।੧੩।

All got engrossed in the gifts of that Lord and that bestower has been forgotten.

ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਆਕਾਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਾਇਆ ।
nirankaar aakaar kar gur moorat hoe dhiaan dharaaeaa |

The formless Lord assumed shape and getting established in the form of Guru made all to meditate upon Lord (here the hint is towards Guru Nanak).

ਚਾਰਿ ਵਰਨ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਕਰਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਚ ਖੰਡੁ ਵਸਾਇਆ ।
chaar varan gurasikh kar saadhasangat sach khandd vasaaeaa |

He accepted disciples from all the four varnas and founded the abode of treuth in the form of holy congregation.

ਵੇਦ ਕਤੇਬਹੁ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ।
ved katebahu baaharaa akath kathaa gur sabad sunaaeaa |

He explained the grandeur of that word of the Guru beyond the Vedas and the Katebas.

ਵੀਹਾਂ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵਰਤਮਾਨੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਇਕੀਹ ਲਖਾਇਆ ।
veehaan andar varatamaan guramukh hoe ikeeh lakhaaeaa |

Those who indulged in scores of evils were now put to meditate upon the Lord.

ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਉਦਾਸੁ ਕਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਦਿੜਾਇਆ ।
maaeaa vich udaas kar naam daan isanaan dirraaeaa |

They were kept detached amidst maya and were made to understand the importance of that holy name, charity and ablution.

ਬਾਰਹ ਪੰਥ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਾਡੀ ਰਾਹੁ ਚਲਾਇਆ ।
baarah panth ikatr kar guramukh gaaddee raahu chalaaeaa |

Gathering the twelve sects together, he prepared a high path of gurmukhs.

ਪਤਿ ਪਉੜੀ ਚੜਿ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ।੧੪।

Following that path (or order) and mounting the stairs of honour they have all stabilised in their true selves.

guramukh maarag pair dhar dubidhaa vaatt kuvaatt na dhaaeaa |

Following the path of being gurmukh man does not read on the wrong way of uncertainty.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਮਰਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ।
satigur darasan dekh kai maradaa jaandaa nadar na aaeaa |

After beholding the true Guru, one does not see life, death, coming and going.

ਕੰਨੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਅਨਹਦ ਰੁਣ ਝੁਣਕਾਰੁ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ।
kanee satigur sabad sun anahad run jhunakaar sunaaeaa |

Listening to the world of true Guru he becomes attuned to the unstruck melody.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣੀ ਆਇ ਕੈ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ।
satigur saranee aae kai nihachal saadhoo sang milaaeaa |

Coming to the shelter of the true Guru now man absorbs in the stabilising holy congregation.

ਚਰਣ ਕਵਲ ਮਕਰੰਦ ਰਸਿ ਸੁਖ ਸੰਪਟ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ।
charan kaval makarand ras sukh sanpatt vich sahaj samaaeaa |

He subsumes himself in the delight of the lotus feet.

Gurmukhs remain exhilarated after quaffing the hard to drink the cup of love.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਾਧਨਾ ਪਿਰਮ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਅਜਰੁ ਜਰਣਾ ।
saadhasangat kar saadhanaa piram piaalaa ajar jaranaa |

Adopting the discipline in the holy congregation, the unbearable cup of love is drunk and endured.

ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈ ਪਾ ਖਾਕੁ ਹੋਇ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਜੀਵੰਦਿਆਂ ਮਰਣਾ ।
pairee pai paa khaak hoe aap gavaae jeevandiaan maranaa |

Then the individual falling at the feet and eschewing ego dies in relation to all the worldly concerns.

ਜੀਵਣ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਡੁਬਿ ਡੁਬਿ ਤਰਣਾ ।
jeevan mukat vakhaaneeai mar mar jeevan ddub ddub taranaa |

Liberated in life is he who dies of maya and lives up in the love of God.

ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਲਿਵਲੀਣੁ ਹੋਇ ਅਪਿਉ ਪੀਅਣੁ ਤੈ ਅਉਚਰ ਚਰਣਾ ।
sabad surat livaleen hoe apiau peean tai aauchar charanaa |

Merging his consciousness in Word and quaffing the nectar he eats up his ego.

ਅਨਹਦ ਨਾਦ ਅਵੇਸ ਕਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵਾਣੀ ਨਿਝਰੁ ਝਰਣਾ ।
anahad naad aves kar amrit vaanee nijhar jharanaa |

Inspired by the unstruck melody he always goes on pouring the word-nectar.

ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਹੋਇ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕਰਣੁ ਨ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕਰਣਾ ।
karan kaaran samarath hoe kaaran karan na kaaran karanaa |

Now he is already cause of all the causes but still does nothing harmful to others.

ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਣ ਅਸਰਣ ਸਰਣਾ ।੧੬।
patit udhaaran asaran saranaa |16|

Such a person salvages the sinners and provides shelter to the shelterless.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੰਮਣਾ ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਚਲਣਾ ।
guramukh bhai vich jamanaa bhai vich rahinaa bhai vich chalanaa |

The gurmukhs take birth in the divine will, they remain in the divine will and move in the divine will.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਭੈ ਭਾਇ ਵਿਚਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਕਰਿ ਅਛਲੁ ਛਲਣਾ ।
saadhasangat bhai bhaae vich bhagat vachhal kar achhal chhalanaa |

In the discipline and love of the holy congregation they fascinate the Lord God also.

ਜਲ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਵਲੁ ਅਲਿਪਤ ਹੋਇ ਆਸ ਨਿਰਾਸ ਵਲੇਵੈ ਵਲਣਾ ।
jal vich kaval alipat hoe aas niraas valevai valanaa |

Being detached like lotus in the water they remain away from the cycle of hopes and disappointments.

ਅਹਰਣਿ ਘਣ ਹੀਰੇ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਅਟਲੁ ਨ ਟਲਣਾ ।
aharan ghan heere jugat guramat nihachal attal na ttalanaa |

They remain steadfast like a diamond in between the hammer and the anvil and live their life deeply rooted in the wisdom of the Guru (gurmati).

ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੀਅ ਦੈਆ ਮੋਮ ਵਾਂਗੀ ਢਲਣਾ ।
praupakaar veechaar vich jeea daiaa mom vaangee dtalanaa |

They always imbibe altruism in their heart and in the sphere of compassion they melt like wax.

ਚਾਰਿ ਵਰਨ ਤੰਬੋਲ ਰਸੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਰਲਾਇਆ ਰਲਣਾ ।
chaar varan tanbol ras aap gavaae ralaaeaa ralanaa |

As four items mix up in betel and become one, likewise the gurmukhs get adjusted with every one.

ਵਟੀ ਤੇਲੁ ਦੀਵਾ ਹੋਇ ਬਲਣਾ ।੧੭।
vattee tel deevaa hoe balanaa |17|

They, in the form of lamp becoming wick and oil, burn themselves (for lighting others).

ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਦਇਆ ਧਰਮੁ ਅਰਥ ਕਰੋੜਿ ਨ ਓੜਕੁ ਜਾਣੈ ।
sat santokh deaa dharam arath karorr na orrak jaanai |

Crores of properties such as truth, contentment, pity, dharma, lucre are there but none could know the extremity of that (pleasure-fruit).

ਚਾਰ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਆਖੀਅਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਲਖੂਣਿ ਨ ਪਲੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੈ ।
chaar padaarath aakheean hoe lakhoon na pal paravaanai |

Four ideals are said to be and may be they are multiplied by lakhs, even then they do not equal the one moment of pleasure fruit.

ਰਿਧੀ ਸਿਧੀ ਲਖ ਲਖ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਲਖ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤੁਲਾਣੈ ।
ridhee sidhee lakh lakh nidh nidhaan lakh til na tulaanai |

Riddhis, Siddhis and lakhs of treasures do not equal its one small fraction.

ਦਰਸਨ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸੰਜੋਗ ਲਖ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਖ ਹੈਰਾਣੈ ।
darasan drisatt sanjog lakh sabad surat liv lakh hairaanai |

Seeing the intimacy of Word and the consciousness, many combinations of philosophies and meditations are surprised.

ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਸਿਮਰਣ ਅਸੰਖ ਭਗਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਲਖ ਨੇਤ ਵਖਾਣੈ ।
giaan dhiaan simaran asankh bhagat jugat lakh net vakhaanai |

Many methods of knowledge, meditation and remembrance are put forth;

ਪਿਰਮ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਘਰੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਖ ਫਲ ਚੋਜ ਵਿਡਾਣੈ ।
piram piaalaa sahaj ghar guramukh sukh fal choj viddaanai |

But reaching the tranquil stage, the pleasure-fruit of the cup of love of the Lord attained by gurmukhs is wondrous.

ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਸੁਧਿ ਲਖ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਣੈ ।੧੮।

At this stage, intellect, wisdom and millions of purities get combined.

Millions of rituals of recitation, penances, continence, burnt offerings and crores of oblations are there.

ਵਰਤ ਨੇਮ ਸੰਜਮ ਘਣੇ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਲਖ ਤੰਦੁ ਮਰੋੜੀ ।
varat nem sanjam ghane karam dharam lakh tand marorree |

Fasts, rules, controls, activities are many but they all are like a weak thread.

ਤੀਰਥ ਪੁਰਬ ਸੰਜੋਗ ਲਖ ਪੁੰਨ ਦਾਨੁ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਨ ਓੜੀ ।
teerath purab sanjog lakh pun daan upakaar na orree |

Many are pilgrimage centres, anniversaries, and millions of virtuous acts, charities and altruism's.

ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵ ਸਰੇਵਣੇ ਵਰ ਸਰਾਪ ਲਖ ਜੋੜ ਵਿਛੋੜੀ ।
devee dev sarevane var saraap lakh jorr vichhorree |

Millions kinds of worship of gods and goddesses, combinations, detractions, boons, curses are there.

ਦਰਸਨ ਵਰਨ ਅਵਰਨ ਲਖ ਪੂਜਾ ਅਰਚਾ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋੜੀ ।
darasan varan avaran lakh poojaa arachaa bandhan torree |

Many philosophies, varnas, non-varnas and many are the persons who do not bother about the (unnecessary) brands of lakhs of worships and oblations.

ਲੋਕ ਵੇਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਿਆਨ ਲਖ ਜੋਗ ਭੋਗ ਲਖ ਝਾੜਿ ਪਛੋੜੀ ।
lok ved gun giaan lakh jog bhog lakh jhaarr pachhorree |

Many are the means of public behaviour, virtues, renunciation, indulgence and other covering devices;

ਸਚਹੁ ਓਰੈ ਸਭ ਕਿਹੁ ਲਖ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਸੱਭਾ ਥੋੜੀ ।
sachahu orai sabh kihu lakh siaanap sabhaa thorree |

But all these are craftsmanship's remain away from the truth; they cannot touch it.

ਉਪਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਅਚਾਰੁ ਚਮੋੜੀ ।੧੯।
aupar sach achaar chamorree |19|

Higher than truth is truthful living.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਚਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਤਖਤੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ।
satigur sachaa paatisaahu saadhasangat sach takhat suhelaa |

The true Guru (God) is the true emperor and the holy congregation is true throne which is most delightful.

ਸਚੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਸਚੁ ਅਸਟ ਧਾਤੁ ਇਕ ਪਾਰਸ ਮੇਲਾ ।
sach sabad ttakasaal sach asatt dhaat ik paaras melaa |

The true Word is such a true mint where different castes in the from of metals meet the Guru, the philosopher's stone, and become gold (gurmukhs).

ਸਚਾ ਅਬਿਚਲ ਰਾਜ ਹੈ ਸਚ ਮਹਲ ਨਵਹਾਣ ਨਵੇਲਾ ।
sachaa abichal raaj hai sach mahal navahaan navelaa |

There, only the true divine Will operates because the order of truth alone is bestower of joy and delight.

ਸਚਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਸਚਾ ਅਮਰੁ ਸਚੋ ਰਸ ਕੇਲਾ ।
sachaa hukam varatadaa sachaa amar sacho ras kelaa |

There, only the true divine Will operates because the order of truth alone is bestower of joy and delight.

ਸਚੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਲਾਹ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹਣੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲਾ ।
sachee sifat salaah sach sach salaahan amrit velaa |

There, in the early morning eulogisation is true and is of the truth alone.

ਸਚਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪੰਥੁ ਹੈ ਸਚੁ ਉਪਦੇਸ ਨ ਗਰਬਿ ਗਹੇਲਾ ।
sachaa guramukh panth hai sach upades na garab gahelaa |

ਆਸਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਿਰਾਸ ਗਤਿ ਸਚਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਮੇਲੁ ਸਚੁ ਖੇਲਾ ।
aasaa vich niraas gat sachaa khel mel sach khelaa |

Gurmukhs remain detached among many hopes and they always play the game of truth.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਿਖੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰ ਚੇਲਾ ।੨੦।
guramukh sikh guroo gur chelaa |20|

Such gurmukhs become Guru and the Guru becomes their disciple.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਰਹਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਖਸਮੈ ਦਾ ਭਾਣਾ ।
guramukh haumai paraharai man bhaavai khasamai daa bhaanaa |

Gurmukh repudiates ego and he likes the will of God.

ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈ ਪਾ ਖਾਕ ਹੋਇ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਣੁ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ।
pairee pai paa khaak hoe daragah paavai maan nimaanaa |

Becoming humble and falling at the feet he becomes dust and earns honour in the court of the Lord.

ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੋਵਣਹਾਰ ਸੋਈ ਪਰਵਾਣਾ ।
varatamaan vich varatadaa hovanahaar soee paravaanaa |

He always moves in the present i.e. never ignores the contemporary situations and side by side accepts whatever is likely to happen.

ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਜੋ ਕਰੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਧਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਕਰੈ ਸੁਕਰਾਣਾ ।
kaaran karataa jo karai sir dhar man karai sukaraanaa |

Whatever is done by the creator of all the causes, is gratefully accepted by him.

ਰਾਜੀ ਹੋਇ ਰਜਾਇ ਵਿਚਿ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਜਿਉ ਮਿਹਮਾਣਾ ।
raajee hoe rajaae vich duneean andar jiau mihamaanaa |

He remains happy in the will of the Lord and considers himself a guest in the world.

ਵਿਸਮਾਦੀ ਵਿਸਮਾਦ ਵਿਚਿ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕਾਦਰ ਨੋ ਕੁਰਬਾਣਾ ।
visamaadee visamaad vich kudarat kaadar no kurabaanaa |

He remains elated in the love of the Lord and goes sacrificed unto the feats of the creator.

ਲੇਪ ਅਲੇਪ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਬਾਣਾ ।੨੧।
lep alep sadaa nirabaanaa |21|

Living in the world he remains detached and liberated.

ਹੁਕਮੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਰਹਣਾ ।
hukamee bandaa hoe kai saahib de hukamai vich rahanaa |

One should remain in the will of the Lord by becoming an obedient servant.

ਹੁਕਮੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਸਭਨਾ ਆਵਟਣ ਹੈ ਸਹਣਾ ।
hukamai andar sabh ko sabhanaa aavattan hai sahanaa |

All are in His will and all have to bear the heat of the divine order.

ਦਿਲੁ ਦਰੀਆਉ ਸਮਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਗਰਬੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਗਰੀਬੀ ਵਹਣਾ ।
dil dareeaau samaau kar garab gavaae gareebee vahanaa |

Man should make his heart a river and let the water of humility flow into it.

ਵੀਹ ਇਕੀਹ ਉਲੰਘਿ ਕੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣਿ ਬਹਣਾ ।
veeh ikeeh ulangh kai saadhasangat singhaasan bahanaa |

Leaving the worldly activities one should sit on the throne of holy congregation.

ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਲਿਵਲੀਣੁ ਹੋਇ ਅਨਭਉ ਅਘੜ ਘੜਾਏ ਗਹਣਾ ।
sabad surat livaleen hoe anbhau agharr gharraae gahanaa |

Merging consciousness in the Word, one should get the ornament of fearlessness prepared.

ਸਿਦਕ ਸਬੂਰੀ ਸਾਬਤਾ ਸਾਕਰੁ ਸੁਕਰਿ ਨ ਦੇਣਾ ਲਹਣਾ ।
sidak sabooree saabataa saakar sukar na denaa lahanaa |

One should remain true in faith and contentment; the transaction of thankfulness should be kept to continue and one should remain away from worldly give and take.

ਮਿਹਰ ਮੁਹਬਤਿ ਆਸਕੀ ਇਸਕੁ ਮੁਸਕੁ ਕਿਉ ਲੁਕੈ ਲੁਕਾਇਆ ।
mihar muhabat aasakee isak musak kiau lukai lukaaeaa |

Kindness, affection, passionate love and smell do not remain concealed even if they are hidden and of their own get manifested.

ਚੰਦਨ ਵਾਸੁ ਵਣਾਸਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਸੁਗੰਧੁ ਨ ਆਪੁ ਗਣਾਇਆ ।
chandan vaas vanaasapat hoe sugandh na aap ganaaeaa |

Sandal makes the whole vegetation fragrant and never makes it self noticed (but still people come to know that).

ਨਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੇ ਗੰਗ ਮਿਲਿ ਹੋਇ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਨ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ।
nadeean naale gang mil hoe pavit na aakh sunaaeaa |

Rivers and streams meet the Ganges and silently become pure without any announcement.

ਹੀਰੇ ਹੀਰਾ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਅਣੀ ਕਣੀ ਹੋਇ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਇਆ ।
heere heeraa bedhiaa anee kanee hoe ridai samaaeaa |

The diamond is cut by the diamond and the cutter diamond looks as if it has adopted the other diamond in its heart (likewise the Guru also cutting the mind of disciple gives place to him in his own heart).

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧ ਹੋਇ ਪਾਰਸ ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਰਸ ਹੋਇ ਆਇਆ ।
saadhasangat mil saadh hoe paaras mil paaras hoe aaeaa |

The disciple of the Guru becomes such a sadhu in the holy congregation as if someone becomes philosopher's stone after touching the philosopher's stone.

ਨਿਹਚਉ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਅਛਲੁ ਛਲਾਇਆ ।
nihchau nihachal guramatee bhagat vachhal hoe achhal chhalaaeaa |

With the steadfast teaching of the Guru, the mind of the Sikh becomes peaceful and God also becoming affectionate towards the devotee gets deluded.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਖ ਫਲੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ।੨੩।੧੮। ਅਠਾਰਾਂ ।

Getting a sight of the imperceptible Lord is the pleasure-fruit for the gurmukhs.
